Interesting. Has Caan ever played anything resembling "mad"? He can be pretty nasty, in a brutish way.

Sad? More like "awesome." G, that site looks great if I can get it to work on my Windows 98. I have a game on my computer called Galactic Patrol--I can't remember if it came with Windows or I downloaded it from somewhere, but it looks beautiful and is an arcade-quality variation of Galaxian.

As I said elsewhere, I thnk Beatles revivals are the way nostalgia COULD be handled, but seldom is. Because instead of going on 52 weeks a year, year in and year out, a Beatles "craze" goes on for a while, every FEW years. The rest of the time you hear about them, but not CONSTANTLY. When was the last time you went a week without hearing about Elvis Presley, whether it was something reverential or one of those (IMO)...

"Cartoon version, yup. Too short though." Agreed, Sat - on both counts. It's wonderful, and would be One Of The Definative Ones - except that it's so rushed. I've done several produtions myself, and I've experienced tons of Audio & Video versions of that story, and you_can't_tell_it_in_25_min. (And we mean "Best STRAIGHT Cartoon Version," right? They took a poll on whos still cool on Q107 in Toronto and the King Of Guitars Jimi Hendrix won after nearly 38 years since his untimely passing. Theres Beatles Music I like, mostly the later albums, but I prefer the Rolling Stones , Kinks , Pretty Things and Beach Boys and Dave Clark 5 to the Beatles.

COOL TOYS YOU HAD
Published (2009-12-05 17:58:28)
Here's a really cool robot toy from the 60's. Both my brother and I had the same model - Zintar - The Silver Explorer. He was really cool, but watch out making him roll over carpet. Sometimes it would pull up the carpet and get stuck in its treads.

Well, obviously the music stands the test of time, but they are marketed really well considering their music was written so long ago. Probably much better today than they had been over the last 20 years. My daughters are big fans because they grew up hearing them when I played their music, and, even my grandkids like them as well. My 4 yr-old grandson Ben and I were going to the supermarket the ...

This reminds me of the time I was watching a bit of The Shining with my ex and I mentioned that I always thought the movie was a bit miscast, but I don't know who I would have cast at the time instead. She wasn't THAT into movies, but she just casually said "James Caan and Anne Archer". And I sort of had to go, holy crap, that wouldn't have been half bad.

Anybody have any good Russ Meyer photos to share? I assigned a piece to Kevin Thomas (ex-LA Times film critic) at Hustler last year, and it was wonderful; he knew Meyer for years. But the piece was spiked unless we could get good, sexy, reproduceable pictures? Can't promise anything but courtesy line-credit (I'm no longer with the magazine), but it'd help. I personally think that the clown has always had a frightening aspect as well as a comical aspect... people in masks and makeup are otherworldly, because they don't have quite the recognition of normal human appearance.

Pretty good. Stanley Ridges stole the show. But that whole brain-switching plot was really far-fetched. Seriously - Black Friday was fine. I got up, didn't have to go to work. Played on the computer, went out to breakfast with my wife, then came home to watch MIGHTY JOE YOUNG. Later in the afternoon we went to our friends' home for a second Thanksgiving Dinner. I didn't set foot in a store....

In spite of the actors, I just can't seem to watch the original or large parts of "Return," with their romantic jewel thief characters. It's like watching the romantic sub-plot of a Marx Brothers movie - countless people (including ones who don't hate the actors and ones who WOULDN'T normally hate the romantic sub-plot) sit there fidgeting till the Marx Brothers come back! So much as I like David...
