That was one of the creepiest scenes I ever saw at the time, Zombie Dad! The lap dissolves on the the end of the overdubbing of the narration ...it was soooooooooooo spine tingling.....amd of course there were more and more really shivery scenes in that movie, not the least of which was ..."Who was holding my hand?" Sometimes less is more and this movie still gets to me even today. Or sure some of that is nostalgia, but I...

CaptainM--My biggest problem with living in the midwest is that it's way too far from Bronson Canyon. As Ben Johnson says of Africa in MIGHTY JOE YOUNG, "Now there's a place I've always wanted to see!" Woody, I'm mighty flattered that you'd bid on my Arthur Franz series. I've only sold two of my more recent efforts when I brought some of my stuff to Wonderfest. (I wasn't trying to sell...

Thank you very much Cap! That's very kind of you! I have to say that the cinematography by John J Mescall was a big help and there are some more amazing images within the film for me to try and recreate! ZD! That is a cracking series of sketches of Abigail Crain! THE HAUNTING was a standout haunted house film for me (aswell as THE INNOCENTS) when I was in the early stages of being a monsterkid!

One thing that has helped to change the comicbook demographic is the bloody cost! My mom used to buy them originally because they were a inexpensive form of reading and entertainment for us. At 12 cents or even the quarter mark in the seventies they were still relatively cheap! Again I am going to lay a chunk of the blame on the mid-eighties around the birth of Image! The price got crazy then with all the slick paper, variant covers and oh yes...

The giant ape monster from EQUINOX. Apparently this thing's name is Taurus although it is never revealed in the film. In the film, Mr. Asmodeus simply refers to it as his "simian friend". I made this model ten years ago as a tribute to David Allen during the time I learned of his untimely death.

The Occult Files of Dr. Spektor

If Dark Horse, by some chance, wants the original writer (and creator) of Dr. Spektor, I hear that he's available and willing. But it will probably go to some hot new flavor of the month ... or Shooter.

"Hot, Violent and Mutant" would have been a great 90s Comic title! One of the things about the comics market in the 90s was that the speculators were heavily influencing thing. It was possible to make a quick turnaround profit on popular issues and so there was a lot of speculation on titles. There was no real look at the quality of the books, just whether there could be a turnover in profits on the secondary market. One...

You'll be happy (well, I think, anyway) that I had what is the cognitive equivalent to an ear worm and it was related to your stuff. (I assume everybody knows what an ear worm is, right? One of those songs you just can't get rid of?) Anyway, I was remembering the scene in Dave where Kevin Kline (as the President) visits the...

Any idea why Naked Souls isn't available in region one? Sounds like a fun one. I have one horror feature script that I submitted to the Project Greenlight 3rd season (the one that wound up making a horror film). I got past the first round of readings, but was cut in the second round. It was about a cursed legendary film and the film fan who got a local showing of the only print - with dire consequences.

Woody, I always thought the looney toons in LA were very entertaining and a big part of LA's charm. I have to admit that after living in Hollywood in the early 80's and then returning for another stint in the mid-90's I missed the street characters on the Boulevard. The Great Mr. Universe and the roller skating witch were mainstays in my mind.

This incident is far more complicated than the story suggests, from what I have come to learn. It is sad that this personal issue between the Frazetta siblings
has to be dragged into the public eye. But Kevin Clement, a long-time friend and student of Frank Sr., would never knowingly be involved in any illegal
activity regarding Frank's paintings. I hope the family can manage to work things out ...

You bet your sweet bippy it's all over. That's why folks like us cling to stuff like the CHFB, to remind us of a time when children weren't taught
to hate their values or themselves.
I will say nothing further on this subject.

Man, does that bring back memories! Actually, the Creature Crackers seems like a great idea and I wonder why or if it has ever been tried.
Thanks for posting those, Jeff!
