ring/pinion swap, and axle...

I run 33's with 3.50 tires and mines got plently of umph. 2700 rpm at 75mph and 16.5 mpg. Although he may need the gearing with a 360hp engine especailly if its a 302. Thats a high in the HP for a 302 probably has very little low end. My 71 has 31's and 4.11's and while it does move it doesnt move like my 73 does. Of course the 71 is completely stock.

A built one involves another axle and when done building it they have to ship it to you. It would be hard to get a built D44 cheaper then putting good parts into your existing axle.

Would you be linking the Bronco then, or would you be needing some "C's" for the radius arms? If you swapped the tubes on your existing setup, wouldn't you also need to remove all of the existing link and coil brackets and re-orient them for the other side? Paul

If you buy one your paying for parts PLUS someone else's labor. So what do you suppose would be cheaper?

EFI runs but not right...

On my '83 Bronco, my '94 CV, & Frank's '75 eB, I used all that stuff straight out of the JY; on the '95 engine in the '83, the injectors were gummed shut, and I had to heat them using their own coils to get them open the first time. They've all run fine for many years.

Caps Lock...... Which is better, a np435 or a C6? Which is better Vanilla or chocolate? It all depends on your personal preference. I like manual trans better for dirt and street, but I think that the general consensus is that for rock crawling, you'll be better off with an automatic. Do what you think works best for you. Dana 20 will be the weak point of the drivetrain no matter what trans you use. NP205 can't easily be regeared to...

Good find. Here's a couple of things you need to do. And a couple of answers to your questions.
1. Yes get rid of all of the wiring, but keep the harness in case you need to use any of the plugs.
2. I would use that dizzy as a core and order a reman. unit. (HINT, if you order one from autozone that includes the TFI, the TFI will have the 'lifetime' warranty. Ask me how I know)...

Average labor around here is $400-500 per axle. Don't know what that
equates to in east coast money.

Pull the coil wire. Sounds like you need a new ignition switch.

Both will work and yes mig welders are your best bet for body work. I would go with the hobart due to the better adjustability it has the other one is not as adjustable.
I've got a lincoln thats about the same as the hobart you picked and it does really good. Although I have hooked the gas up yet but I have done body work with the flux wire and it worked good.

don't worry too much about the 351w clearance, i ran one in a stock bronco,
i didn't even change out the throttle linkage or oil pan, although it was
just a DD so i wasn't doing anything crazy off road, all though i did have
it above timberline a couple of times...i agree with the look of the body
lift, i would try and take it to suspension only

More then just a larger cup, it is a larger cross as well.
I can't find the numbers but I thought it was something crazy like 75% stronger?

I don't have any handy, but somebody posted up some great shots of their '75 w/stock air cleaner just yesterday.
Although they don't use the same snorkle assembly, the main shape and design of the housing is identical.
The later models had some electrical sensors and a cold-air intake tube. In some cases, the '72 model year had some sort of temperature sensor too, but I'm not sure if it mounted...

The 470 is fine really no more than a 600 cfm carb is fine for a stock 302.
What carb do you have now?

Dwell needs to be 36-40 degrees. Anything less and you are not building up
enough spark energy in the coil. Set timing after adjusting dwell, 6 BTDC
is normal. CO is low and I assume HC is high? If that's the case it's
running rich. Maybe drop the float level slightly in the carb, make sure
air filter is clean. Think about changing jets down a couple sizes if
everything else is good.

1. no that puppy will slip with a v belt.
You can just get away with a 100 amp one with a single belt. If you can find the pulleys to run a double v belt you are in good shape.
2. I think the explorer front dress / sep set up works good.

I could of sworn I asked this? c4 temp gauge
I thought I might have asked this already, I bought a temp gauge from summit-the instructions call for the sending unit to be attached to the sending tube before the aux cooler? I have read that guys here like to keep the sending unit in the pan? Why?...I realize temp at pen is suppossed...
