I suppose the big debate is HRE on next round. Wipe him off face of planet or capitulate and concentrate on war abroad with galleons. Downside to capitulation is people yearning to join motherland. 4 unhappy people per city!! This is a somewhat annoying map as you can easily have 50+ cities before you even win! Hmmm it will be interesting to see if how early everyone completes this map.

Yes, well, it's rarely wise to trust my memory for details like that, and at the moment I haven't the time for a search for where I read it.

@mariogreymist to get 3/6 beakers you need 2 farms, though. 2farms for 3 beakers is no (GPP is another story). 2farms for whipping is almost always a good move.

If you want to see space-race immortal then continue off from my Peter save. It's not too far off. Way back when people used to keep insisting space-race was impossible on deity, so I kept doing them over and over since I liked them best to begin with. Then people suddenly kept complaining I was doing space-race too much, so I then mixed it up ever since. NOW.... you say I'm not doing it enough? Hmmmm!

Pick your first 3-4 techs wisely, and try to keep your starting warrior/scout alive. It really helps on fogbusting. Unless you have horrible starting techs or a bad starting location, you can generally tech both AH and BW and have time to hook it up before barbs come knocking.

It depends. If you had enough siege, their defence should be crippled enough so you have reasonably favorable odds no matter what. I'm talking 90% and up with a good siege. But, if I had to choose between 50% with a fresh unit or 65% with an elite I'd take the fresh one so I can save my elite.

1) stop that settler 2) grow at least size 3 (working your two food specials + green riverside mine at that size) 3) resume settler Blocking: perfectly good idea here because SB and the english are a bit far, and SB isn't an easy target to say the least. Not sure of what leader it is from the english, but the same applies for Churchill. To block: as you said, you need two cities at least. ...

Your final goal should be Farms + WS's + Scientist specialists. To do this the most critical techs, 1) Civil Service --- For chain irrigation 2) CoL --- Caste System to run unlimited scientists + 1 extra for WS's 3) MC --- Enables WS's 4) Biology --- Incresed food from Farms 5) Communism --- To enable SP 6) Philosophy --- Pacifism Remember WS's dont look that great initially...

I have looked at your save. Overall, you are in a good position. You appear to be a full tech generation ahead of Gandhi, at least militarily. You should exploit that advantage and conquer or vassalize him. Your catapults, cavalry, and maces should be sufficient to subjugate him completely. Just keep building units and attack. It appears that your cottages are fairly newly developed...

You can draft, rushbuy, and whip in the same turn if you have the cash and population. What's even better is that the unhappiness is still only 15 turns for a draft/whip on the same turn although the unhappiness is still 4. Amazing how sometimes it takes so long to figure things out in this game. I was playing for years until I finally figured out how the internet exactly worked.

Emperor Shafi eh? Has a nice ring to it. Congrats BTW on your first emperor win in another thread. Look forward to seeing the Boudica game finished when you get the chance. Re: settling. Both the pic and zooming in when I looked at the save suggest a couple of things: (a) there are even more FPs to the south (b) the area is largely devoid of hills and therefore early production and (c) ...

Noble, Epic. I plan on following TMIT's strategy and tech AH to find the horses (I know where some are, of course, but I'll play it out as though I don't) > Mining > BW (trees, trees, trees ) > HBR > Archery. I expect to ignore the Oracle completely, despite how tempting I find it in most games. After Archery, I might use Agriculture if any nearby locations need it, but with the Ger and early ...

1 off coast always bugs me off but it's just 1 tile so settling in place looks tempting. Either that or 1S, which might or might not be better. All things considered, I'd go ahead and settle in place. Double gems, double 6 food yield tiles... this game is as good as done.

First off, Welcome to CFC!! Well, I was going to post some help, but seeing as I'm only on chieftan/warlord, you seem to have about the same grasp of the game that I do. I read about games on here, and what I read makes sense, but then I have a hard time making the same connection to my game. I've come along on some stuff, but it's still slower going. I'll be reading this thread to see some...

Well... build lots of units. Most of which should be either siege or mounted or both, depending on circumstances. Protect cities that are likely to get attacked by random units or enemy SoD. Near the border, have some fast units to deal with random enemy stuff. Make sure roads are in place for reinforcements to come quick. Check relations, if possible - make sure you woun't get attacked by ...
