Spokane is a great area to live and work, and there are a few choices regarding to the construction of your home. Construction has slowed down in our area, but we have not been affected as badly as other regions. We are a technology-based state and government and commercial projects are still under way! TIP: Get an electrician that understands audio/video components, computer and phone networking and wiring for HDMI for High Definition TV -...

Gordy's is good, sushi.com is another favorite, PF Chang's for a chain restaurant, Mustard Seed and Noodle Express (a quicker version of Mustard Seed) are some of my other favorites. Oh and Thai Bamboo...haven't been there in a while but I remember enjoying it the last time I was there.

5 to 6 months of winter , 2 months of summer . You'll read in the Spokane mags that they have about 260 clear sunny days a year, not even close. Comparable cloudiness to Seattle weather but more clear and hotter in the summer. Probably a lot better place to live than Florida but if you like the sun you might want to check other areas out.

I have lived here all of my life except for going away for college, and Spokane is a wonderful place to raise a family. In general, going far north, far east, or far south are the better or more highly sought out neighborhoods. Considering that you are in the military, it may be necessary for you to sell your house quickly, and I think you will have better luck with these areas. In the far north, I would recommend the Mead School District or...

I have to agree with Wendy K... that place knows how to make good Pho! Other Chinese restaurants in town are very average and not very authentic in my opinion. I am Asian and grew up in LA surrounded by Chinese restaurants, so the restaurants out here have disappointed me. There is one small place called Gordy's Sichuan Cafe that I would recommend.

Ha! Last year we had mucho snow, so much so that was difficult getting around. This year we have none! We did get a couple'a inches last week, but that's gone. Since we moved here a year ago October, we only know last year's snow as being normal! Folks tell me that this a more normal, to slightly light year. We are predicted (finally) to be getting some before New Years though... I'll try to dig up and post a couple'a...

I second Wendy's nomination for Life Center... I went to the (old) Life Center church, and it's actually a pretty nice church. Church isn't my thing, per se, but it does have a nice atmosphere.

Call the local real estate association. If anyone can give you a ball park figure it would be them I would think.

Pho Van on Division south of Garland is delicious and authentic. I eat there at least twice a month. Not sure about the others -- I pretty much stick to Asian restaurants when eating out.

Because it's inland, and on the eastern side of a coastal state, and because it's not Seattle.
Any bad reputation Spokane gets is undeserved IMO.
