Retiree needs advice
Published (2009-11-26 22:48:00)
Why do you want to move? What don't you like about living LI? Why do you think this area would be a good fit for you? What is your rental payment range? Your house range? It might be challenging to find a rental home that will take multiple animals. I think libraries are better up North than down here. But they're okay here. Whether it's a good fit for you or not depends upon what you're looking for.

I'm not qualified to give legal advice, but I have an advanced degree in telling other people what to do via anonymous discussion board postings ..... While some companies have internal rules against "backfilling" laid off positions, there's nothing illegal about it, assuming they didn't choose to lay you off for reasons that are unlawful (gender, race, age ...). [Note this does not apply in a unionized...

We already pay and shoulder a large tax burden here in NC. I would hesitate to raise taxes to cover budget shortfalls. Fortunately we can't print money like the Federal Government does with the Fed. Reserve so our money has to come from taxes. Either cut expenses or raise more revenue (increase taxes). It's very simple. Should we be spending more on education? Absolutely. The question is where does the money come from.

The only advice I could give you and I'm being sincere, is to ease off the gas a little. 80 in a 65 is pushing it to say the least. Most of us go 5-6 mph over on the freeway, but anything up around 10 mph or greater is going to get you tickets. I'm not judging you, we all are guilty of traffic violations, we don't intend to do, just most of time we don't get caught. Watch your speed, as I hear they really crack down on...

I never even heard the term "black friday" in terms of the shopping lunacy the day after Thanksgiving until this year, but my experiences are that I either work or hang out at home raking leaves/etc - both which are a barrel of laughs compared to shopping. I have not spent much time in Durham since being here, but the few times I was there, the thing that was notable was that there is no buffer zone between bad areas and high end homes and rough neighborhoods. You can be standing on one block, with $500,000 homes and walk 1-2 blocks and be in gang land. I've never experienced that close a proximity to a transition before. This can also be seen in ...

It's not in the article, but I heard it... hush hush... sort of... . . . . The dish ran away with the spoon! Isn't keeping Santy's Spouse out of the parade just SO in keeping with the Holiday Spirit, Peace and Good Will, Glad Tidings, and all that? I know on Thursday, most Raleigh citizens will give thanks that they were not offended by Ms. Santy in a confusing housedress.
