We just fire up the grill outside. Bad think is you can't thaw anything from the deep freeze. Cold inside and cold outside! Most stores are closed due to lack of electricity. But you can cook a frozen pizza on the grill. We also have the turkey fryer and have been known to cook chili or soup in it. My kids look at the situation as an adventure. All perishables are in a cooler on the deck. As for...

Hi guys, I'm new to the forum, glad I found it! I'm hoping to learn a little bit about Missouri before moving there. My husband and I currently live out of state and were talking about maybe moving to Waynesville soon. We're hoping it'll be a nice quiet area... I was wondering what the pros and cons are in Waynesville/area or Missouri in general. What does Missouri have to offer? Why do ...

I was wondering what Sedalia, MO is like. Is it a nice place to live? Looking for a small town with a few nice restuarants and a generally rural lifestyle. Wouldn't mind being fairly close to a university. Also would like warmer winters with less snow than we get in New England. Thanks

I know a few places where tarantulas can be found in general. But I'm wondering if anyone has ever encountered them in the wild, or possibly seen mature males crossing the roads in the fall (to mate). I'm trying to get a better idea of their natural range in the state. I don't need anythign specific, just a general city location or along this stretch of highway... whatever. Thanks -...

Yup, popping up all over the place!! We noticed the pawn shops on almost every corner once the casinoes went in years ago. But payday loans are now every where, especially in the midtown area of KC. My husband works in that area and I am amazed at how crowded the places are when I go down that way. They should be illegal. DS got caught up in the scheme and we bailed him out but only if he ...

I am researching various smaller cities in Missouri for possible relocation and wanted to ask a few questions about Columbia and Jefferson City. First, I know the airport that serves the area is the Columbia Regioanl Airport, which has very limited service. I know there is shuttle service from Columbia to both STL and KC airports. Does anyone know of a service that provides transportation ...

My boyfriend and I have been trying to get our finances at least stable before considering the BIG kahuna of all steps... marriage. One thing we've been considering is where we'd like to live. Right now we're in Kansas City, but neither of us really have ties to it. My top choices are St. Louis or Columbia. All my family (except my mom) are in St. Louis. My mom is about 90 minutes ...
