I just stumbled across this wonderful quote from Groucho Marx, who usually tried to be funny, but on his death bed, he stripped the humor and offered a serious philosophy of life: "Most of us try to compensate for our low intelligence with hard work."

Being able to buy items at a store does not stop shoplifting. So legalizing prostitution would not stop rape.

Not pathetic. I, too, see a cell phone as a convenience for me - not a leash the rest of the world can use to get a hold of me.
Cell phones are great tools. People just abuse them.
And it is so freakin' rude when you are spending time with someone and they answer calls and texts.
Sooner or later, though, we will see the cell phone-using drivers as the new drunk drivers. And not a ...

YES! With teams getting larger and larger and more and more because they dont want to cut a kid for it might hurt their feelings is wrong. Not keeping score it wrong. Sure it may be fun for the kids, but life is a constant competition with someone else. We need to teach our kids that when you lose, you just need to learn from it and work harder so it doesnt happen again. If you get cut from ...

You know what, I don't care. I'll be whatever I damn well please, I don't care who made it. If it's affordable and of good quality, I don't care if it's made on Mars. This " Buy American" stuff is pure crap. I'm not going to pay up to 50% more just because the same thing is made in American than China, etc. If this country wants the American public to "Buy American" then they are going to ...

I've never understood the evolution/science vs religion mentality. The concept of evolution says absolutely nothing about the existence or non-existence of a non physical universe, other dimensions, or other realms of existence (in fact, certain scientific studies have validated such possibilities).
We are three-dimensional, physical creatures who are for the most part firmly locked into ...

I can't see how that is hypocritical. You can have compassion for something but we are at the top of the food chain (fortunately for us). Animals are food.
We've had an attachment to dogs for a long time, they protect us, help us hunt (other animals), and keep us company, even thousands of years ago.
In America it's not customary to eat dog but in other countries it is. I guess their ...
