A secret is good for 10 years so you might be able to reactivate it. If not, don't be too concerned as you can probably get an interim through your new employer in a matter of days, which is all you need for many if not most large contracts.

Most of the oil patch itself is on the Western Slope, over in the area of Grand Junction and north of there. If both types of work you seek typically locate in or near the oil patch, then the western side of COLO is the odds on favorite for where you'll be. The western slope of COLO is nowhere as developed as the suburb-heavy Front Range area (Fort Collins to Pueblo, along I-25). We have many threads on GJ and the towns over there, find...

Have you tried hiking in the mountains? Or camping? When you reach a pier or plateau, the views/pictures can be great.

If you're going for the skiing I'd probably wait until after the first of the year, although I haven't checked their snowfall/trails open info lately. I always prefer to stay in the " old town" part, not the fancy new part, but that's a personal preference.
I don't really recall any bad meals there, but I really do like "Baked In Telluride". For dinner I'll usually split something with a ...

Here's some practical advice: Get hired by a firm anywhere that needs an engineer, preferably a large one that has offices where you want to live. After you've been there a while and gained some experience see if you can transfer internally to your target location. There are many more jobs available internally than externally in most large companies. A job in your field is more important ...

Site owner feels there aren't enough threads to justify a sub-forum for that region.
That status can change over time as more people join city-data and generate threads.
If it were my site to play with, every part of this state would be in a sub-forum of some sort, if for no other reason than to end the confusion of what's in which subforum.
I've sent a message to the site owner ...

I recommend Breckenridge as a fun place to stay and to ski. I can't remember what their beginner runs are like, but if you take an all-day lesson the first day and have decent athlete ability, you should be able to move up to some "easy" intermediate runs. Your instructor would be the best one to direct you where to ski. Breck's got a good varied mountain, is in a gorgeous location, and ...
