Hello everyone. I know people will say you can't compare the two cities and I'm not trying to do that. I grew up in Youngstown( Liberty township) moved to Tampa a year ago. I like the warm winter weather here and thats about it. I do not see myself here for more than another year. I have been researching Cleveland and it seems the downtown and other neighborhoods have many great projects under ...

Hi, I am considering moving back to Cleveland after being gone a long long time. I was back last summer for 4 months. It has changed a lot, but then again, so have I. I am living now in one of the most beautiful cities in the world. Yet, their is something lacking here for me and that is family and close friends. I could not believe how economically depressed Cleveland has become. It ...

What are you guys opinions on public transportation in Cleveland? As I said in my last post, I am relocating for work and will not have a car with me. Unfortunately my job entails me going to colleges in North Ohio most likely - Case, Cleveland State, Kent, Akron, Toledo, Bowling Green, Oberlin, etc. For the Cleveland colleges I don't think taking the rapid is that bad. What are your ...

I read a lot of these message boards, and take in a lot of information based on how people feel about Cleveland. I do this because I'm mid-20's, ready to settle, and would like to stay in Cleveland. After reading through some of the posts on here, and other boards, I have a couple of theories, and questions for those of you who criticize Cleveland. 1. Cleveland is still a HUGE economic ...

If you noticed, recently city-data posted the 2007 crime stats for a lot of cities along with the new population estimates. If Im not mistaken they get their numbers straight from the FBI. If you look at the crime stats for 2007 it says Cleveland had 90 homicides...Wrong again. Cleveland had 135 homicides in 2007, it said that everywhere not to mention we kept track of it. They have ...

There seem to be a lot of natives here! I've never even heard of most of the things from the "only a Clevelander would know" thread! We have lived in the Cleveland area for a few years and are relocating this fall, unlikely to return unless our home doesn't sell. In that case I guess we'll have a vacation home in Strongsville! Any takers? I'm finding myself strangely sad at ...

Hi all, Are backyard pools common in Mentor? And if so what kind? Is fibreglass more popular or concrete? I was a little concerned over the fibreglass as I thought that freezing ground might wreck it. Thanks xkiwigirl

Wow. I noticed this year a lot of stuff has been happening in the suburbs. They had a murder in some eastside suburb and then the murder in Barberton which is very unusual.

I have a question for Clevelanders. I visited Cleveland a few years ago during the spring for a rowing event. When we got to the river, it was literally clogged with dead/dying fish. It was absolutely disgusting and smelt awful. The natives at the scene blamed it on "Sherwin Williams and his damn plant" but that seemed a little dubious. Does anyone know what exactly caused the fish to die...

We were set on Twinsburg or Macedonia for our move from STL to CLE , but were not as impressed with the schools or homes as much as Strongsville . Yes we heard about the teacher in trouble , so no need to tell us about that . We are a family of four , the two kids are both under 10 years old . We are looking for housing between 300 k and 400 k. Thanks
