Anyone remember the Chicago Sting of the Major Indoor Soccer League? I went to a few of their games at Comiskey during the outdoor seasons.

The various specializations between DePaul & Loyola shape the schools. Loyola has a huge investment in its Medical Center, that drives a great deal of its fund raising and even the ability to improve lab sciences. This extends to its offerings in MIS for Healthcare, where a large percentage of grads will move to other hospitals. DePaul has much more of a focus on "white collar Chicago" in its IT, MBA, and Law School...

Yeah, I noticed the river was too when I crossed the Adam St. bridge this morning. It looked like a big witch's cauldron. Of course, the wind kept it from rising too far up.

Holy badger this thread is old.
Not to mention the OP is a whiny east coaster who is obsessed with talking crap about Chicago and the midwest.
Let his threads die. Please.

Swissotel is really nice and right on the river. Just make sure you ask for a room with a view. It can be really nice at night with a view of the river, navy pier, and the fireworks (near navy pier).

As noted on the old thread, I saw them making ' Blues Brothers' in Chicago in '79. They did the downtown scenes on a Sunday.
I saw Mel Gibson on the set here about five years ago, too.

Personally, I've found the CTA increasingly better the past few years. Bus bunching is down (although being on a bus who bypasses a green light to maintain distance is annoying), trains are cleaner, tracks are faster, more bus stops are being moved to their rightful location after intersections. Its far from perfect, but it has gotten better.
Still, no one's holding you back from ...

One can 'feel' and appreciate the presence of contrast to some degree without having to study or prefer the other cultures.

I just got here! So, no I'm not leaving yet
But I hear ya on landing a job around here. I had my eye on Chicago for a long while, and it took me a couple of months of emailing resumes to get a job here.
But a lot of companies don't like transfers, so maybe that was slowing me down I don't know.
