On my local Sports radio talk the Phillies apparently are beginning their early stages of a search for a veteran 2B/Util to fill in for Chase Utley as he rehabs & is expected to miss time during the regular season...I know from past Phillies talk that Ryan Freel is a player they were interested in acquire before (prior to last season), maybe a little rekindling their interest on Freel can be ...

mlbtraderumors According to Brian McRae reporting for Sports Radio 810 in Kansas City, the Royals acquired Coco Crisp from the Red Sox for reliever Ramon Ramirez. I emailed McRae to confirm, and he said, "It's a done deal." The Royals get speed and a capable center fielder, while the Red Sox receive a quality late-game reliever. It looks like royals gave away 4 years of a good releiver for...

Hey.... Did anyone attend the reunion last weekend and, if so, does anyone have pictures to post. I'd love to see what the old guys look like now. There was a very small photo in today's SI..but my eyes aren't that good anymore.

WARSAW, Poland Researchers believe they have identified the remains of Nicolaus Copernicus by comparing DNA from a skeleton they have found with that of hair retrieved from one of the 16th-century astronomer's books. Jerzy Gassowski, an academic at an archaeology school in Poland, also says facial reconstruction of the skull his team found buried in a cathedral in Poland closely resembles ...

Would like to hear thoughts from REDS fans on trying to get Holliday. With the other guys out there Peavy and Sabathia this could be one that the REDS could swing. The blue Jays are not going to compete in that division for a while and need to get younger. We really could use a #1 to go with Harrang who has shoudlered that burden for too long! We would have a very competitive staff in my ...

Yeah, David Weathers numbers aren't bad when you look at them as a whole. But I'm glad the guy won't be back if you believe what he's reporting to MLB.Com. If you've watched ole Stormy the last few years.....it's a roller-coaster ride when he takes the hill and I'm sick of holding my breath every time he leads the inning off allowing one of his patented 4-pitch walks or line-drive single ...

Yes this is cut from a movie, but if you watch closely and listen, it is VERY intune with some of the doubts casts about God on this board, yes I know, fine logic and intense study pave the way for deep articulate discussions on this topic.. but for a moment lend yourself to this historical happening..can any of you see yourselves in this? questioning God?...it was happening even THEN...this ...

Well when Jocketty came to the Reds I thought the Reds were going to get better. I keep hearing the Reds rotation is deep? What drugs are those writers taking. We fans who supported the new stadiums for the Reds and the Bengals got snookered. We spent all this money and neither team has made any real effort at competing. The sad but true tale of professional sports is that it takes money ...

According to Stark, our number 1 potential pick up is Mark Mulder. He's a low cost high upside lefty with ties to Jocketty. I definetely think its worth a shot to sign him just because he is a lefty and has had success in the past. Also, rockies gm said traded with reds was "comical", saying they had no interest in homer bailey. Most potent rumor may be that rangers and reds have been ...

OK baseball fans..............The Yankees have offered CC a 6 year 140 million dollar contract....thats over 23 million per season...........and they are supposedly going to keep on truckin in regards to signing additional free agents............ I know both sides of the BIG money, but I personally find this dynamic of haves and have nots to be getting a little old. Baseball and it's ...

November 15th, 2007 was one of the saddest days in Cincinnati history. especially if you were from Hamilton Ohio. on this day we found out that we had lost Hamilton Joe Nuxhall or Nuxy as many liked o call him. Now i dont remember listening to him on the radio but after his death i realized what he meant to me and the city of Cincinnati. I still remember where i was, at my locker before ...

Lastnight on Bill Maher's HBO show, Maher, as he is so prone to do, tried to usher in a joke about God and Jesus Christ, "Pididdy" was on via satillite, as Maher was interviewing him, the interview wasn't about God or anything like that, but he (Maher) made another joke about Christian faith, to which Combs AMAZINGLY said back to him, "Put it this way Bill, one day you WILL believe"...Maher was...

It was a given that the yankees will outbid everyone for CC. No brainer. What is amazing is they are trying to buy the top four FAs. Must be nice. I hope the team falls on its collective butts. No offense to the players, but Why would anyone that isn't a yankee fan be rooting for anything else? LOL
