Tropheus Lighting question
Published (2009-11-17 15:58:00)
This question has probalby been asked to death but... What kind of lighting do you keep your tropheus in? More intrested in the color ie...10,000k , actinics, 6700ks and so on. Also - how did you come up to keeping a certain light? Did it make your trophs pop? Does a certain color light work better with a certain variant? Things like that - thanks

Tropheus Lighting question
Published (2009-11-21 20:57:00)
I just switched to a setup of 6700K power-compacts for my ikolas, and am not happy with it. I forget the brand (and probably am not supposed to mention it here), but the 6700K's by themselves do not show off the black/yellow contrast well, and the colour looks rather washed out. The previous lighting was a daylight / "Colormax" combo - while I didn't find it bright enough the fish actually looked better with it. My...

Hi, boston_cichlid wrote: My question is ,from your experience which is the top 3 best looking (rare) tropheus out there to order. Besides the reg. Im looking foward to order something diffrent. What would you recommend ? Sorry for the late answer! I must say that the ones that I like the most are definately the RR. Apart from these ones the nkonde and the chaitika are my favorites. Cheers, Diogo

Do you have pics? You might have the same variant in both tanks. If I remember correctly, the chaitika have blue dorsals and the lufubu red. I do know that the collection points are very near each other. _________________ http://www.cichlid-forum.com/articles/tropheus_cor ner.php http://www.cichlid-forum.com/articles/photography_ list.php

What are the dimensions? What are you planning on putting in it? I think the tank needs more water.
