indepfunnyfarm ... Thanks for sharing the information about your Uruguayan fishes, and feel free to update here about the success of your Gymnogeophagus sp. "catalan" spawn and any future spawns of your Australoheros sp. "red ceibal". I'm sure everyone would be interested in reading your accounts. But please do not post information that might get this thread locked or removed , i.e. information...

Some people are just born with foot in mouth disease. You can get an operation for it these days, though it does have side effects. Namely said foot ends up your own... @rse. Sorry Kim & Darth #6...I know one of you will have to delete this post and I'll probably get a warning or something, but this sort of thing is totally inappropriate here on C-F and this is {NOT} a great way for a newbie to introduce himself to the forum. True brasilensis have been reported breeding at as little as 5 cm, even a touch under for females. And do watch the aggression. I lost a much much larger silver saum green terror to a 12 cm male before. I do believe they are something in the brasilensis group, as they don't have the duel linear spotting down the flanks. _________________ 20 Long- Female Crenicichla...

I'm not sure abouth this info. Basically black water extract is peat extract. As far as my knowledge goes peat extract should have a low PH. The purpose of peat extract is to soften the water and to add tannins and minerals (that are dissolved in the peat) so according to that it should also have a low PH. There is also an extract from Oak roots availeble that does the same as the peat extract only doesn't give the brown/yellow...

right on, thanks for the response Casa.. Ya you know they really don't seem that interested in the plants.. I'm really relieved to see that. Ya, I also have 6 juvenile Thor. Meeki in there, I'll thin it out as they improve in color and keep the best for mine, we'll see... I'm just going to watch for a while and see how it goes in there.. I work from home so I have a good idea how all my fish behave.. super awesome...

I'd stay at one dither group, hatchets get a tad big to have a well sized group in that tank anyway.

I noticed an aquabid from someone near me for these fish. I have an unstocked 55g and think these would be perfect. All my research says a cooling off period for them but doesn't really specify how to do it. I am stumped. What dither fish? Danios? and could the cooling off period happen in my livingroom at 60-65f but with the lamps (planted tank) running all day? I really want them and ...

Greetings. I am new here. I just began my tank with 9 danios, it is cycling. I will be adding 11 tiger barbs and 6 panda corys and want a pair of dwarf cichlids probably. I have a large piece of bogwood and two sections of fake plants and some open space. Not looking to breed fish. My water temp is 77 degrees. I have looked at bolivian rams, blue rams, and some apistogramma. I wonder if ...
