QUOTE (Artist @ Dec 17 2009, 10:10 PM) HB--Christian Symphonic Rock. If anyone has any suggestions for other Christian symphonic/opra rock/metal bands let me know. I just kinda discovered this whole genre recently....I love rock, and I love classical music and celtic music, so combing these is so awesome. I'm not big on the modern "worship" type music really, but you should definitely try out Sufjan Stevens. Some of his songs just move me to tears, they are so powerful, and it's not really the rock type of music (of course that changes with some of his different cds.) Check out his " Greetings from Michigan...", and "Seven Swans" cds. To Be Alone With You, All The Trees of the Fields ...

Why did the last one die? I'm not currently listening to music, I forgot my headphones at home and I'm at school right now. Fail.

There's no set music "rules" for Christians, but use discernment. If you feel uncomfortable listening to certain music because of the lyrics, than maybe it would be best not to listen to it. You have a wide selection of genres to choose from, and most have Christan alternatives. Not that secular is bad, it's up to you what you feel comfortable listening to.
