"Are you saying Evolution is a deceptive theory?" nope. "I know a few things about geology, anthropology and archaeology--enough to make an informed decision." I think the majority of geologists, archaeologists and anthropologists would disagree. "I would be careful, if I were you, of making snap decisions about people. I try not to do that, as it has a nasty tendency to come back and bite whoever...

QUOTE You're a babysitter, not a teacher. Actually I am. And i'm training to be a certified teacher QUOTE Yeah, I'm sure God is REALLY ANGRY about his word being defiled with cheeseburgers. QUOTE You mean Heaven isn't going to be fun?! I don't know. Do you know? No. QUOTE Yes, all of those things can be fun. QUOTE (~ChasingmyDreams~ @ Dec 3 2009, 05:41 PM) Actually I am. And i'm training to be a certified teacher Wonderful. Before you get your certification, you'll probably learn something about what they call an "enjoyable learning experience." I come from a family full of teachers. They all have fun with their students, and standardized tests show that my parents are some of the most effective...

QUOTE 1. Every source is biased--including yours. 2. I never stated that arrested embryos were capable of anything except metabolic activity. My source simply added some more unsolved questions that it feels could help illuminate the issue of "arrested embryos as dead" if resolved. Until those questions are resolved, I remain, as always, on the side of caution. Every source is biased to a degree, using a clearly biased...

I've noticed in you, (this will be a very short observation as I have to head out to the bank now), that you are most interested in looking just outside or to the very fringes of accepted bodies of knowledge in order to justify something that is compeletely out of the question. Sure there is not one single scientific method, there is a range of possible scientific methods, there is a plurality of possible methodological frameworks, but...

QUOTE (mpok1519 @ Dec 3 2009, 06:53 AM) Actually, science and math do work on the same basic principles of observation and evaluation. They're very equivical in many respects. Much like all areas of study Just like to point out that this actually isn't true. Whereas maths uses deductive logic, science uses inductive . That's actually a very important difference. Deductive logic can say something with 100%...

QUOTE (BrideOfChrist @ Dec 2 2009, 04:17 AM) I'm not sure what you mean. Do you mean that the people participating in this thread aren't acting Christian? Or are you saying that theres nothing really Christian about the LOLcat bible? I misunderstood. I thought Yoda wanted it to go back to just being a news view. My bad. +1 to Julie, Jakob. To be honest, though, lolcats bible is going to be published, people are going to read it, and they're going to continue to be ignorant of what God thinks or does not think of it. All the debating in here won't change that; it'll only cause us to repeat our positions to each other. Sad fact. I'm just hoping that somebody's going to curiously look up the REAL scriptures since the chapter and verse...

Why does nonliteral scriptural secular interfaith views constitute compromise or lukewarm? If anything, it's not warm, but cool and refreshing. Heh. If we're all sinners, and all God's children, it make sense to tear down walls boundaries and divides among other faiths in order to better bring them to Christ. The doomsday clock hell fire and brimstone sin sin sin sin sermons tend to ...

Frankly, tl;dr, but just scanning the way it was set up leads me to believe that this is a lovely little site convinced that it can "prove" the existence of Jesus, and even further claiming proof that he was the Son of God. Good for a laugh, nothing more

After watching a video about this in bio, I thought this would be a perfect place to present the issue for Christian members to talk about. Personally, my view on stem cell research is that it shouldn't be allowed (due to the fact that it's murder). Thoughts?

Well, depending on one's definition of "Christian Nationalist", I think I would consider myself one. That said, I don't push for a theocracy. This is America--lad of the free, home of the brave, but what our nation was founded for (liberty, principally), is slightly different from the term "freedom". I believe liberty is freedom within a reasonable moral framework and legal order (in ...

I don't think it's wrong to be angry at God, haha. I've always been taught that God is big enough to handle whatever you've got against him. Surely, he'll begin to change your heart to make you realize the truth, however.

QUOTE (Jarius245 @ Nov 23 2009, 09:42 PM) Is truth, most specifically, God's Truth, absolute? Are the commands that God has given us in the Bible set in stone? Are there exceptions to God's Word? Are there exceptions to the commands God has given us? Let's look at an example. Most of us can agree that it is against God's command to lie. Does that mean lying is always wrong? Are ...

There are many transexual individuals who get a sex change bc they are hermaphroditic and the procedure grants them the sexual identity they identify with. I see nothing wrong with that.
