NASB © biblegateway 1Co 8:6 yet for us there is but one God, the Father , from whom are all things and we exist for Him ; and one Lord, Jesus Christ , by whom are all things , and we exist through Him. one God, the Father from whom are all things (the source) we exist for Him one Lord, Jesus Christ by whom are all things (the expression, the channel) we exist through Him This is the proper understanding.

Another point in your essay Decrumpit: "If we make the Bible a science textbook, and science can be proved or disproved, we can then prove or disprove the Bible. If the Bible makes a claim and we read it as absolute science, then science positively disproves that claim, the Bible is not the inspired word of God." Is it correct of me to interpret what you\'re saying as: "If the Bible says something which is later...

Quote: Fact is, you can\'t make a scriptural case for an old earth, because the Bible when read plainly, consistently seems to be speaking in terms of a young earth. The Bible literally contradicts modern origins science and your essay merely underlines that fact. If you take scripture at face value, yes the earth is young. But literalism seems to end at Genesis 1, because nobody gouges out his eyes if they offend him. Scripture contains...

Butterflies can have a wingspan of up to 12 inches across. The colours of their wings don’t come from pigment but tiny scales in the wings are designed to reflect and refract different kinds of light. Each ray of light shines through the prism of their scales creating beauty, without light the wings have very little colour. Each sort of caterpillar eats only one kind of leaf – each ...

I know that this is a very touchy subject, which is why i believe this needs to be talked about. I would also love some answers. ive met people here and there stating that there is indeed racism in the bible. some of the verses ive read seem pretty clear cut, but if youve read the bible and have talked with people with different beliefs or people that dont believe at all, you know very well ...

I know you love to talk about this. lol. Well fear not because I don’t know if my question is just like most trinity related questions. I believe in the trinity and have no reason to deny that the Father, the Son, and the holy spirit are all god. I just have trouble grasping this in my mind. How do you people like to think about it? How do you phrase it? One question i do have is ...

I’m not sold of YEC and would like to see an OEC timeline with some facts in place. TY also something I don’t understand. Say god created the heavens and the earth on the first day.....well isn’t a day as we know it based off the earth’s rotation around the sun? That means the first day could be an infinite amount of time. IM not sure about this so can someone elaborate for me....

This is a pretty general and basic question but how do we know which commandments we are to keep? Like we sit back and say things like in the old testament fornication and homosexuality is wrong, but things like how we shave our beard or cut our hair doesnt apply. Jesus says if you love me you will keep MY commandments. Which ones is He talking about? How come we pick and choose from the OT ...

I've tried looking some of these up on google but just can't find answers. 1. Was christmas always celebrated in winter?? I heard it used to be some other time of year but it was changed so christians had something to celebrate while pegans celebrated winter solstice...I don't know if that's true or not... 2. If it is true, what time of year did christians used to celebrate christmas?...

Help me debunk and atheistic argument. We have a friend who is kinda an atheist. He believes in a creator but not in religion itself. Its funny because he studies world religion in college. I never get very argumentative with him because he is a good person at heart. One of his arguments against christianity is not the story of Christ but of the old testament of our bible. And in his mind if the ...
