I know you can get them out here in Tampa at Dunderbak's, I would call a german restaurant and ask the owner. I once worked near the Haribo factory in Germany, I miss the "jellies"!

Miami area top Italian
Published (2009-11-14 15:08:00)
There's an existing "Top Italian in Fla" thread which includes several Miami/FTL suggestions -> http://chowhound.chow.com/topics/318973 Currently, in Miami I would probably go with Scarpetta and Sardinia as my top 2. There are folks who like Il Gabbiano but I find it rather pricey for what you get (though this is not necessarily speaking of quantity - some love the way they stuff you with fried zucchini and hunks...

Greek Food in Tampa??

I usually go to Costa's and have the octopus and the whole snapper. Mykonos for dessert. I think Hellas is good as well. It is so pretty too. I think most of the places are pretty close as far as food quality.

If you have a World Market near you, they should have them. World Markets have a good assortment of European candies. http://www.worldmarket.com Four markets in Jacksonville, one in Dayton and several in Orlando. They have a heavy assortment for Christmas.

Favorite Smoked Food & Where
Published (2009-11-13 12:55:00)
i've enjoyed Smoke a few times, but the last time i got what was probably the worst server i've ever experienced. it took a real act of will just to get and pay the bill after a fiasco of a dinner.

Orlando Restaurants - Please...

Your list has gotten much better. Get over the deep-dish idea, though. I researched this extensvily once and we don't have decent Chicago-style deep dish pizza in Orlando. Giordano's tastes (and looks; I honestly suspect it is) like the crust is frozen, plus the servers discourage you from ordering it because it takes a long time to bake. For true Caribbean food, go to Singh's on Old Winter Garden Road just east of Kirkman...

no idea if your local Whole Foods Market will have any left to order at this point, but they definitely offer fresh turkeys for Thanksgiving.

Grannybubba makes an insane pie, they refund your money if it isn't the best pie you've ever eaten. We had one last halloween and it lasted about 3 minutes at the in-laws house. www.grannybubba.com. they ship all over the place but they're located about 20 minutes north of here and you can pick up.

I'm looking for ideas on a good place for breakfast in Key West. I've been to Blue Heaven (okay but not that great for the normal overpriced KW food) and to Two Friends Patio. I had always heard good things about Sarabeth's, but I've been seeing bad reviews on there lately. I've been to the Keys at least 50 times, and I've spent a decent amount of time in Key West. I normally stay a...

This is an odd list, Mcvixen. I've never heard of Pao Gostoso (though I am intrigued), but I'd slash Sweet Tomatoes, Giordano's and possibly Bahama Breeze off your list. They're all chains. Giordano's is pretty awful, IMHO. I've honestly never been to Sweet Tomatoes so maybe I shouldn't dismiss it here, so I encourage other hounds to chime in. But I'm pretty sure it's just a fast food chain with...

You could try the Hard Rock Cafe at Bayside Market Place (right infront of the Port) -- they are casual, on the water, etc. The downtown area is usually pretty dead on the weekends, and a lot of areas around the Arena aren't that great to be walking around... Bayside is likely your best bet.

For seafood: Zoria has rebranded/rebooted itself as Main Street Oyster Bar and it's very good. It's not just shellfish -- there's a broad fish menu as well. The prices are at the moderate price-point level and that includes the wine list. At a recent dinner everyone enjoyed his/her prepared fish. Except for me: I had ODed on fish over the prior several days and went for the goat cheese ...

I spent some time in South Korea, and haven't yet found any really good Korean food yet in the bay. The three restaurants I know of off the top of my head are: Matoi - 602 N Dale Mabry - mediocre, more of a sushi joint. Sa Ri One - Cypress near Dale Mabry - OK, not mind blowing or super-authentic ?? - On waters, west of the veterans, south side of the road - Ironically this was my favorite of ...

Terra mia is very good for a personal pie. Regular size try Anthony's Coal Fired on Sand Lake. Taste like the famous places from New Haven. Best specialty is the Grandma's at Carmela's of Brooklyn .

I agree. For how much you pay, I feel the quality and the taste at Wazzabi is lacking. Just went to Shin on Friday night and loved it. Great sushi, great rolls, nice atmosphere. Also, I had saltwater eel which I had never tried before. It was an enormous piece of sushi, very delcious.
