Spring loaded airguns recoil forward and backward due to the spring piston. Rifles only recoil backward as after the bullet is expelled there is no forward force excerted. Airgun rated scopes have the optics anchored down in the front and back of each piece as rifle scopes only have anchors in the rear. Thats the diffrence in a nut shell. Funny how a spring loaded airgun could destroy a scope faster than a .50bmg

So, I've been considering an inexpensive, though very accurate air rifle for in house practicing into a metal trap. Is there something under $200 that would give me the same practice accuracy as my Ruger 10/22? Basically I want to practice indoors all winter so I don't have to start from scratch come spring. And I don't want to be frustrated with the air rifle being inaccurate.

The pistol itself is always carried in a $60 Comptac holster though

place is kind of a hole compared to Megasports, but 250 doesn't sound too bad for an indoor range. Are you planning on shooting enough to justify it?

Spring guns can distroy a scope.Something with the spring stoping at the end of its stroke causes many scopes to fail.I've never had any trouble mounting them on a dove tail. Tasco has had some bad press but they have replaced free of charge several scopes for fello air guners in the past. Befor buying any scopes

How nice and secure of a case are you looking for? Many folks just get hard plastic shell cases with foam inside. These are cheap, plentiful, and more than adequate for your transporting needs. Given that you asked for one with a combo lock, I'm suspecting you want one for storage however, yes? The combo lock feature will most likely be the most difficult feature to locate. Also, ...
