yeah, i feel you Pilotx1 im riding my bike either way...with loan or without...id weather wreck it at the track and go back home with a bruise or two than wreck it on the street and have to dodge a car or something once i fall off, or have something else that is 3 times heavier(truck) hit me or my bike while its on the ground... and there are always ways around ins companies....i could prolly fix it myself

Jeff with www.traqmaterental.com is at most all the Motovid.com days at Blackhawk and most of the rider clinics on the days before CCS races. He does rent the gear by session or the day. Just tell him that Brian Wink or I referred you if you call him. He's a really good guy. I think the difficulty comes with the cost and setup. We've talked about this a million times. It's hard to setup all the sensors needed to get the info....

keep your ego and throttle hand in check and take it slow for your first times out on the track. dont expect to keep up with anyone and keep an open mind for advise from the CRs and youll do just fine on your bike. buying a bike for track is an expensive proposition if you find out its actually not for you. everyone says SVs make great track bikes and they are cheap to boot

if u want something similar, hook up with Jeff with at www.traqmaterental.com . he's at the motovid events and has all the cameras and gps trackers. he'll setup ur whole bike and overlay the info into one file for you. that way, u don't have to spend all that extra money on the hardware and you'll still get what u want

From what I understand the air cooled sportster based buell motors are quite reliable just as long as you don't go crazy with mods. The chain conversion kit is quite pricey though, this allows you to alter your gear ratios. It's a completely different swing arm.
