If they stress you out, they win. I'd just take a deep breath and realize some people are just really bitter. Theriot isn't a terrible player, he isn't going to single handedly lead us to the promised land, but if we were to build a stronger team, he could be an integral role player. No doubt.

That's what stinks though. You would have two guys that need a platoon in Fuku and Granderson. At that point, why not grab Mike Cameron? Otherwise that's a TON of money that you have committed to guys that can't hit lefties. Granderson would be great.....don't get me wrong. But you're handcuffing yourself again in that scenario. Besides the fact that Granderson would destroy the farm. Sign Cameron and Reed....Reed...

Then there was Zambrano, Wood, Prior, Marmol, Guzman...Etc etc etc. It's easy to have a selective memory. Without the first full year injuries and overwork by Dusty Towel Boy could probably still be a solid pitcher.

I know he has stunk for 2 years but..... Austin Kearns He can play RF. He has good career numbers vs lefties. Maybe Jaramillo can help him fix something. Because even a modest improvement would make him the perfect guy to play for fukudome vs lefties If he was willing to take a deal like Andruw Jones just signed with the Sox, or better yet a minor league deal, I'd go for it

Stop wasting our time. We all know that getting a rifle-armed, ball-picking, high OBP, high OPS, high AVG, high HR, high RBI, run scoring shortstop is the Cubs #1 issue. Once the Cubs lock this guy up, it's WS,,, back to back to back,,,,,,,,,,,, then we can talk about other insignificant needs.
