how hard is it to clean the egr valve? i was looking at buying one and they are a little to expensive for my taste. from what i have found online it seems like it is in a pretty convenient location on the engine, but im not really sure. After using seafoam yesterday, im thinking i should try and clean this out and replace the spark plugs and oil. thanks.

an EGR valve or exhaust gas recirculation valve is a form of emissions control divice. under vaccum it pulls in exhaust gases to cool off the combustion process. it does this by takin up space in the combustion chamber so there is less air and fuel mix and thus a cooler burn. yes your 95 will have one on the passenger side of your intake manifold near the back. mine is unhooked due to exhaust system modifications. they only work when you are...

My tranny kinda shifts funny once in awhile but I dont know if I am fixing to be looking at a rebuild of it or what but when I had my oil changed around Oct 1st the tech underneath that was getting fluid samples told me that I had a few shavings in my tranny fluid and they recommended a tranny pan drop and filter change for 80.00 which at that time I declined because I was already getting my Mobil 1 oil change and getting Lucas added as well...

OK if you have the A/C on when your driveing and your engine surgges and then backs off then surges agian every 10 to 30 sec means your low on freon and the A/C compressor is cycling on and off to tell you your low

Try tapping your EGR valve with a screwdriver handle. A good whack not enough to dent it though. It may carboned us inside and not working properly. You could check your fuel pressure and see if it is in specs. Try changing the filter also.

ok, if you simply dropped the pan to change out the filter you only should`ve needed about 5qts. If you did an overhaul you only needed around 2.5 gallaons Drain the dam thing

i have heard that there might be problems with floating valves do to there not being enough back pressure i do know that you will loose more power from your truck because of there not being enough back pressure in the system if you do gut the cats you should look at putting a set of performance mufflers on the truck to help keep the back pressure up
