Alright ill probably stay with just the mobil 1 with no additives. Ive always thought to myself they make mobil 1 at the factory to be one of the best known oils right?...... so why would you want to screw with the formula?

I`m assuming no SES light, but I`d still have it checked to see if there are any low priority error codes. Clogged cats could cause power loss, o2 sensors could cause power and mileage loss... Are the plugs the proper heat range? Just a few ideas for you. :

If you dig around Summit Racing`s or Jeg`s website you should be able to find a bellhousing adapter but I don`t know if a manual tranny flywheel is available for a 472. Steve

The LS based Vortec motors do tap more than the previous engines did. It is common and not a problem. You are just hearing the valve train making noise. My last 5.3L does it and so does my 6.0L. To the old school mech it is irritating but there is nothing wrong with it.

I went with a Comp Cams XE262H complete kit when I did mine. If your wanting more bottom end torque then you can get away with using your stock valve springs and a small rv cam, but the stock valve springs redline at 4500 rpm. If you`ve got a good amount of miles on the motor I would highly recommend the complete kit so you end up with new valve springs, lifter, and timing chain with ...

since the turbo 400 motor is a popular trans you should be able to but or get machined a spacer plate that`ll line your bell housing up with the engine. try and get as slim as you can so you dont have to shim the flywheel and stall converter as much. as for the engine mounts theres a good bet they will not line up. prob gonna have to fab up some new ones. good luck. fomr wat ive heard ...

you may want to look into putting a set of larger injector in there since you have done the 383 swap the stock injectors may not be able to supply enough fuel for that motor

since it sounds like you have a new ingnition id try doing a injection system flush to see if that helps and at the same time check your fuel pressure and fuel pressure regulator and even your fuel pump pressure. change the fuel filter cause it may be plugged. it has to be one of air fuel and spark so it sounds like you`ve eliminated spark and air is pretty easy to check. also slip a ...
