Quote from: thomsen05 on Yesterday at 01:16 PM Why is MCM always so RUDE?      sorry to     but holy SH!T Because the rest of the world, excluding MCM, is ignorant about vehicles, period. My conclusion, after being on this forum for a couple of years now, is that MCM either used to be or is a mechanic by trade and enjoys condescending anyone with less automotive knowledge. God forbid they...

What code did you get. The sensors are under the intake and getting to them is a lot of work.

You are putting way too much additives in your tank. My very first guess is that you want a simple answer to a complex question and a simple solution. Mechanically speaking, I am here and you are there. When did you change the spark plugs?   When did you take it to a garage to have the problem looked at. There is no way that someone who is not mechanically inclined who does not have the proper tools can diagnose a problem on...

Monte Carlo Man : The fuel pump runs for three seconds like it should, fuel pump is NOT the issue....Changed my plugs at start of Spring, in April...this vehicle is a used 2002 vehicle I bought two years ago and problem just started last winter now its happening again this winter too.. I have had several vehicles in which I have done the same in EVERY one that I am doing now and have never had this problem before, I have had Chevy and Dodge...

Ya need to test pressure at fuel rail in AM before you start.. more then likley it is losing pressure.. and hence the delay in starting while the pressure builds up

Still not resolved. I switched gasoline and I'm running the tank out before doing anything elses. Debating between taking to the dealer or just go ahead and replace the knock sensors and see if that helps.

Mine's sitting at the dealer now. Technician claims the pinging noise is piston slap and there's not much they can do for it. But they also said that as the engine heats up it should not be as bad. I explained to them that it knocks just as bad after coming off the highway for 30 miles. Evidently I had a couple new codes indicating vacuum loss in the intake and a bad MAF sensor. They are replacing MAF, intake gasket, and...

O.K. I am assuming that you already have the intake Manifold off. If you do then you will see two rubber plugs in the valley directly underneath the Intake Manifold .They have a wire coming out of the plug, which in turn connect together and go to a plug that can be removed prior to removing the intake, it should be located somewhere between the master cylinder and the driver side of the...

I was told that this vibration is the back-up braking system recharging itself.....supposed to be normal. I actually found this in the owners manual as well.

Update: It was the injectors. 6, 8 and 5 being the worst, but I am going to replace them all as several opinions were made that they were all ready to retire pretty soon. The regulator chattering like that is apparently normal. I compared the sound on a 2005 4.8, 2002 5.3, 2008 5.3 and a 2004 5.3 All of them sounded the same.

Quote from: 07 LS on Today at 03:38 PM Are the 08 & 09's NOT consuming oil? Not jack the thread but the above links will give a great amount of info. My theory on it is a quality control issue at a manufacturing level happened with some of the 2007 models, probably somewhere with the rings or valves. Not all of them are affected. There just isn't enough tolerances to make errors...

Take it to Autozone or similar place and have them test it. It's possible that it could just be the cluster (needle getting stuck), but if the battery light is coming on, the autozone test will let you know if it's a bad battery, alternator, or both (or neither). Is this your stock battery? On an 02, it's probably time to replace it anyway....
