Truphone team has been keeping themselves busy by adding new features to their two AppStore apps, the Truphone for iPhone and Truphone for iPod Touch. They have announced the ability of two-way instant messaging over MSN Messenger, Yahoo! I personally am always wary of refurbs. Yes, I know how they are tested...heck the company I work for frequently tests refurbs for performance...but I just don't like the idea of a used phone.

The Dev-Team just launched its long-awaited iPhone 3G unlock, named "yellowsn0w," They are still working out a few little problems but reports are coming in with successful unlocks. It's also been confirmed that this release will work with the iPhone's latest v2.2 firmware, and it requires that the phone be updated to v2.2 to even run at all. via: Dev-Team Blog - Don't eat yellowsn0w!

BooksOnBoard, which is a web-based ebook store, is offering more than 30,000 eBook titles in the eReader eBook to the iPhone/iPod Touch. BookOnBoard are not releasing their own dedicated iPhone app. but is relying on Stanza, and existing application, for accessing the ebook store. According to some reports, Apple has dropped DRM from iTunes. This entails older songs dropping to .79 per song to help move or free up older or less popular music. Back in June it was reported that the talked about SlingMedia was bringing the popular SlingPlayer mobile to iPhone. Although the app still has not arrived, the company has planned to send it for the AppStore review during this quarter.
