I would go with the Storm 2 just because I have the original. But no one really knows how good the storm 2 is yet, because it's not out yet.

I can try to help a little on your first question. The iPhone plan is only $30 a month for unlimited internet and email. Then if you want text messaging you have to get whatever plan for that you want. This is what I pay for it and am unfamiliar with the discounts and stuff you are talking about. also with unlocking the phone are you talking about jailbreaking it? Ive heard good and bad things ...

Nope, Tracphone and Straightalk use a very locked down type of Network. Also, 2 different networks. Tracphone does use in some places GSM that ATT uses, but it would not be compaitble I dont believe because their network is very limited and only recogonizes certain phones.
