coming off citalopram - Topix

Well, for all my courageous words above...the cold turkey method can get stuffed. Full force of withdrawal symptoms hit home at 1am last night and I was a mess. Uncontrollable shaking, panic attacks, hot flashes etc. Ended up taking 10mg in the middle of the night and will now have to wean myself back on them after 6 days off - great! Also, found that drinking any quantity of alcohol whilst withdrawing is making me feel 100 times worse. Stick...

Rodney, Call a suicide crisis center in your area right now. There is no shame int he way you feel. There are people available to help. Hang in there. It may be difficult to understand right now, but there is a reason that you are going through this. Maybe you will be able to help someone else some day in the same situation. Life is too precious to give up on, even when all seems lost. Call that crisis center now.....

I've had the same issues and I'm on 40mg also since increasing the dosage from 20mg to 40mg I've felt even less hungry and more tired. My dr. said that the weight loss may not be attributed to the celexa because its supossed to have few side effects...

I just started taking citalopram 10 mg 4 days ago. Will increase to 20 at day 10. I read that it may cause drowsiness so I took my first one at night. Couldn't sleep more than an hour at a time. So I switched to mornings, and that helped, but my sleep was still disturbed. Last night I took about 2 mg of Melatonin at bedtime and slept like a baby, waking up refreshed. I'm feeling better already, who knows what is to come. Anybody out...

My husband was written a script for Celexa/Citalopram a couple of months ago. He has a family history of Bipolar, he was only diagnosed with depressin, social anxiety disorder and panic attacks. Alcoholism is a family trait, though he is normally a functioing alcoholic and had hardly consumed any alcohol at all prior to starting Celexa. Towards the end of the first month he was drinking like a fish and telling me all kinds of lies (lying had...

Ive been searching for a while on the internet because I seemed to have had a panic attack tonight at work and had to leave early (which I NEVER do). I had the following symptoms: -shortness of breath -rapid heartbeat -nausea -dizziness -chills, then hot flashes -shakiness -numbness and tingling in my right arm -the feeling that I needed to go to the hospital or I would die After doing a lot of research, I have found that I most likely had a...

I was on 20 mg of celexa for the past year. Trying to come off it and have severe dizziness, nausea, swollen glands in upper torso, severe itching, can this all be from celexa. I feel like I'm dying.

If you don?t feel better after 3 months on Celexa, probably it is not for you. Talk to your doctor about another treatment. On this page Celexa is compared to other antidepressants: http://www.emedexpert.com/compare-meds/citalo...

Hello. I'm totally new to this forum but it looks like a good place. I've been weaning off of Celexa for the past three months. I am now entirely off it. While I was merely decreasing my dosage, I was generally fine. Moody here and there but nothing big (whew). However, ever since the very first day I went without taking anything, I am incredibly hyper! I can't sleep *at all* and I haven't had ...

Its best to take them at night, also if you are a smoker and you have slept all night without one, and the celexa has also run out in the am , that might be causing the anxiety. Brothers, and Sisters, isnt panic, anxiety a bitch from hell or what. Two hours ago i was crying just to releive the pain, took a sed, gotta go back to get more celexa, i stopped talking it awhile back.

I am on 20mg. Typically I take my dose at bedtime along with my sleep aid and I am in a coma for 7-8 hours. However, I like to go dancing all night occasionally. Has anyone tried using a small quantity of speed while on Citalopram? Any tips for staying awake?

I just started Celexa 20mg/day and I drink hard cider. My lobes! In the morning I feel so sick I think I'm going to die. Even when I don't drink I wake up hung over, which I think is a side effect of the Celexa. I'm using if for anxiety not depression. Part of my problem is that cider has so much sugar in it, so I crave sugar if I don't drink at all. Will this pass? I've only been on it a week.

I was wondering if I am losing weight because of celexa (15 pounds). I've been proscribed celexa for panic disorder and have been on it for 3 months. Was on prozac for 8 yrs at 10mg before that. My weight is staying at 180lbs. Nothing has change regarding my diet and exercise. It's the only reason I can think of, unless I am sick with something else? I still have no say with nocturnal panic. I ...
