I absolutely love to fetch wadded up paper but even better is the plastic grocery bag that's tightly twisted into a ball! That thing can be kicked around and carried so well!

Spazzy plays fetch. But his own unique version of it. He has these mice from petsmart that he LOVES. I think he has 4 of them and I have a bag with 6 new ones in it just so when he wears one out I will have another to replace it! (so spoiled!) I will lay on the floor on my side with my head propped up on my hand and he will lay on his side about 3 feet away, I throw the mouse and he grabs it with his paws then puts it down and bats it back to...

Thanks! Yes, I honestly believe that it only happens when I get home-they both are super relaxed when I get home and for a second time last night I saw Kitty grooming Indy's head and she stopped when I noticed-it makes me wonder if maybe there is some kind of jealousy over me-but after a little bit of hissing and no fighting or chasing they both slept on my bed for part of the night, which is a big step since Kitty will only cuddle up on...

Swishing tails usually mean it's playing - if that's any help. It's how me and my son 'play fight' . He does that thing where his mouth is open a little, like he's grinning after he's just apparently 'attacked' me. When cats fight 'for real' you get real bad injuries, not just loose fur. Have they injured each other at all?

Thanks Natasha's Mom! I know we aren't the only ones but it's sooo upsetting that sometimes it feels like no one can relate either because they don't have cats or they just don't seem to care as much-like it's not an issue and they are "just" cats. They are both using their boxes though, thank goodness, but she is a lot more affectionate lately. When I first found Kitty she was very independant, which I...

"Seeing" spirits/ghosts?

If this is a new thing that never happened before, that's great! How intriguing!! However, it is common for cats to look over your head. I guess it is a way for them to connect with you without showing aggression by looking into your eyes. Oscar used to do it to me, and I do it to cats when I want to give them non-intimidating attention.

Thank you for the advice! I guess I need to figure out a way to cover the bottom of the door somehow so he can't ruin it... thanks again

I know what you mean about thinking it only happens when you are home- I don't know if that's truly the case but that's what I tell myself to keep me sane at work And when I get home, they are always sleeping in a kitty bed or the window seat and everyone seems very peaceful. I really don't know what the best way to deal with it is. When the kittens first came home I did a slow introduction, over a period of weeks, between...

This is just an update. I'm still concerned and very very puzzled.
The lack of appetite appears to be gone since we stopped the anti-anxiety medicine. So yesterday after seeing her gobble up a bunch of water I put her on my lap. Myd's always been vocal, and this time I figured I could brave any random bite or swipe that she's famous for doing. And we think we came up with an answer.

I've walked my cats. Just keep in mind that you can't really walk them... they walk you. Haha. They won't really cooperate unless they're in control. Just kind of follow them. Only one of mine likes it, he's pretty outgoing though.

They make heated cat beds that plug in the wall. Don't own one, but have seen them at Petco. Might be worth looking into.

Cats like kids will have spats. Maybe the one who was hissing was trying to establish dominance. There is always a alpa in a group. Maybe will playing one got too rough for the other one. I would just keep an eye on them and see how their behavior goes. I wouldn't worry just with one spat. If it continues you may want to try a time out for the bad kitty.

First for the biting. The second she starts pull your hand away and walk away. You have to do this over and over ad nauseum until she understands that when she bites/nibbles/chews she gets the undesirable reaction of you leaving. Cats do not respond very well to punishment per se, you will only scare tham and cause them not to trust you escpeciatlly with the "thumping" no matter how gentle it ...

Hi Kitty Pryde
Sorry to hear that you and Indy are still having some difficulties. I know your mom has tried a million things to help you work this out. Can you describe what the aggression looks like? Is it mostly just loud hissing and growling or does it get more severe than that?
We're still working out Lucy's interactions with Charlie and Leo and it's been challenging so I feel your ...

I can certainly see your concern. We had a similar problem with our "watering hole," but because of our puppy, not the cats. My advice is to put water bowls all over the house where your older cat can get to them. I'd drop the gravity waterers until Zen is mature enough to handle them. Most kittens go through a playing with water phase. We have no less than three heavy ceramic water bowls in ...

There is every chance she could chill out after getting spayed. It wouldn't be a good idea to rehome her without her being spayed anyway, so I would try that for sure.

At 11 weeks a few accidents doesn't sound like a big deal to me. I got Taz at 12 weeks and she still had an accident here or there for the next couple months. They are just babies, it happens. Unless it's a constant issue (daily) I wouldn't worry much about it. It also might be because the litter box is too far away from where they are playing and by the time they realize they have to go it's...
