My bishop, in response to the Motu Proprio, issued a one paragraph response in our diocesan newspaper that stated that he "acknowledged" the Motu Proprio. It was followed in the next issue by a scathing editiorial from the diocesan chancellor who stated that "nobody wanted it".................Very, very chilling effect. Traditional Catholicism has been on the rise in my parish since 1992 when we celebrated...

I go to school at night with a lot of very young people. Mainly Catholic, but either away from the church or just going through the motions. Last night I spoke with 2 of them. One of them is trying to learn latin so I suggested that she come to the EF high mass on Sunday so she can hear it. She is away from the church right now and considers herself pagan, but still has great love and respect for...

by the fact that there seem to be two separate "brands" of Catholicism, regular and "Traditional", as evidenced by the existence of a separate "Traditional Catholicism" forum? I thought one of the marks of the True Church was that it was "One". Is there really unity of faith in the western Church right now?

I just recently heard someone went to go visit and listen/pray by this vision this woman is seeing in Emmitsburg (and her husband records what his wife hears). First, I would absolutely love to be a part of an experience like this. Now doing some research, it looks like the Vatican is skeptical of these visions. I am looking for a place to visit in 2009, that will be a spiritual journey for...

Praying in Mortal Sin - 10 new posts
Started 5 days, 18 hours ago (2008-11-15 19:24:00)  by Slayer
I was wondering if it is alright for one to pray if one is in mortal sin? I would like to pray for someone but I am afraid that might be offensive to God to ask for a favor while one is in a mortal sin. I am still trying to overcome the sins that I am in which is why I am not going to confession until I am ready. So can someone pray or does that person have to go to confession beforehand?

In case this has not already been posted in this forum, here is the link to the Traditional Catholic Radio station . It's great for Traditionalists to better understand and edify themselves in Traditional Catholicism, and should also provide great comfort to the Traditionalist diaspora who do not have access to the TLM. Enjoy.

Keeping in mind that the goal is to raise properly formed Catholic men and women, what tools/guides do you use or suggest to people who are just starting to or have become attracted to the traditions of the Church particularly under the old rites of the Church? Many of these people are converts or men and women who only knew the novus ordo or may feel they were inadequately catechised. We ...
