You are wrong, pure and simple. The New Testament Church, according to Tertullian "held all save wives in common" If any member of the Christian community lacks anything, the rest of the community is to see that those needs are met. It is clear you have replaced God with an idol of gold.

I'd ask everyone to read the Vatican document on same sex unions I quoted earlier. Note that the Church doesn't care what you call it, be it marriage, union, or whatever. It's not a magic word game. Rather, it unambiguously states that Catholics have a duty to clear and emphatic oppostition to any legal ratification of such unions. Like St. Thomas More and Henry VIII except at a democratic level,...

NFP involves abstaining from marital relations during times when it's most likely a pregnancy could happen. But it does not eliminate the possibilty (evidenced by our youngest son). Abstaining from marital relations is not a sin, thus NFP is not either. imho

How do you guys view this issue and express your opinions on it? A large part of me believes in cultural hegemony within a nation, and I know that illegals undermine this. However, an even greater part of me realizes that these people have families, and most come from countries that suffer under poor conditions and corruption. I am by no means pro-deportation, I believe that solution is ...

I do not vote, and I have never voted. A lot of people say I am stupid for not exercising my democratic rights, but I don't think so. The reason I don't vote is because I don't really have any strong political beliefs, and I don't subscribe to any political ideology. I won't vote until I know what I'm voting for. I make all of my decisions based on the teachings of the Catholic Church. I am...

It's impossible to predict what might happen in a person's life. So many of our great leaders, heroes and role models rose up from horrible conditions. Likewise, some of the great stains of humanity came from average homes or even from great privilege. Sure, the argument could be made that the world would have been better had Joseph Stalin or Adolf Hitler been aborted. But, we mortals...

It occured to me recently that nearly all the saints who wanted to be obedient to Catholic teaching and had positions of political power ended up either being kicked out of power (like St Elizabeth of Hungary or St Edward the Confessor) or became quite right wing and authoritarian. For example, there is St Louis IX of France, who once remarked that sometimes the only way to make a heretic ...

In debating abortion on another forum, I have come across these arguments from the pro-abortion side. Ok lets say that women stop having abortions. Where are all these kids going to go? Who is going to provide for them? Especially the ones that will need lifetime care such as the retarded and drug addicted ones. *** I find it funny how so few people on the pro-life side push ...
