While I do not see how reception on the tongue can be a vector of transmission of H1N1 virus (or any other pathogen), should I be within the jurisdiction of a bishop who is urging reception in the hand pro tem, I would yield to the scruples of the weaker brethren, and receive on my hand.

No differences as such, other than the Gloria is not sung. Some priests might choose to use certain options for the penitential rite only during Advent, or switch to a different option for the opening greeting, but none of these differ from what may be done an any other Sunday. The Rite of Sprinkling is another "always there" option. It's also the case (and this question comes up ...

I want to hear what the more standardized explanation is, but I think you underestimate the value of intending to do exactly what the Lord commanded us to do, in the manner the Lord commanded that it be done. For instance, it is not necessary for a priest to have faith when he performs a sacrament for the sacrament to be effective. It is only necessary that he, a valid minister of the ...

The problem is (and I should have mentioned this in the first post) we are right in front of everyone to the side of the altar. We are not in the choir loft, which I would prefer; but the monsignor wants us up in front. The basket is awkwardly pushed in front of us for the sake of a few in choir who find it convenient. I find it disruptive and, well, tacky -- lacking in decorum. ...
