The reverence required for the Eucharist in the heart and soul, not in the body part that receives it.
While I do not see how reception on the tongue can be a vector of transmission of H1N1 virus (or any other pathogen), should I be within the jurisdiction of a bishop who is urging reception in the hand pro tem, I would yield to the scruples of the weaker brethren, and receive on my hand.

Father David,
At our Parish the priest asks us to raise up our hands to bless the Pre-Cana Couples, the RCIA group and the children presenting themselves for various sacraments during special masses we have for them during the year. Can I use this above Canon to explain why I don't do it along with everyone else? People think I'm crazy to not want to participate. It's a real struggle for me ...

Peace and love

It depends. The man will undergo discernment with a spiritual director to ascertain just how "deep" the tendencies are and if there are any issues.

No differences as such, other than the Gloria is not sung. I want to hear what the more standardized explanation is, but I think you underestimate the value of intending to do exactly what the Lord commanded us to do, in the manner the Lord commanded that it be done. For instance, it is not necessary for a priest to have faith when he performs a sacrament for the sacrament to be effective. It is only necessary that he, a valid minister of the ...

The problem is (and I should have mentioned this in the first post) we are right in front of everyone to the side of the altar. We are not in the choir loft, which I would prefer; but the monsignor wants us up in front.
The basket is awkwardly pushed in front of us for the sake of a few in choir who find it convenient. I find it disruptive and, well, tacky -- lacking in decorum. ...
