I think everything needs to be taken in the context of a relationship between two people. If a couple gets an afternoon where they are away from the kids, the jobs, the stresses, the bills, etc and they are having and joking and playful afternoon together and they are slapping each other on the butt making construction worker noises and laughing - no that may not be degrading - that may be playful, flirtatious, and fun. However, when a wife is...

Jengl: Just in case my previous comments seem cold (I don't mean them to be so) I want you to know that you are loved and your struggle does not go unnoticed by God or by those of us who live on earth. I'll pray that you find comfort in your struggle, Jen. I've found great comfort in the comments of those here; I hope you do too.

Marriage problems and porn often go hand in hand, so it is appropriate to talk about both here. Thanks everyone for talking. Sixlittle saints, Your plan to keep praying is great. I can see grace working in your life, and I commend you on your efforts. However, I respectuflly propose, in Christian love and charity, that some negative thinking patterns are still getting in the way of you healing. Please bear in mind as you read my advice that I...

I just finished reading this thread and I have to say I am surprised at how many people were skeptical that you can learn how to use NFP without a class. We got an old CCL book from our local Catholic bookstore and did it that way. I avoided postpartum, avoided while breastfeeding, and then when we decided it was another, used it to conceive the little one we're expecting now. It's not rocket ...

Oh no! I was hopeful things would get better. I will hold you both in my prayers. No matter what happens, God is always there for you. He doesn't interfere with free will, BUT...He knows our needs, He won't give us more than we can handle. As Mother Teresa once said...''God must think I can handle a lot!'' lol
Praying for you.

1) calling something a conspiracy is just moronic and asking for trouble
2) limiting giving to "one gift" is just as bad as putting on a $$$ amount. An x-box is "one" but so is a guitar pick or a swiffer handle or a envelope of hot chocolate.

It's hard to say...theres a lot to choose from!
I'm not sure I can articulate it well, but Catholicism helps me be the kind of mother I am proud of being. I'm not sure I would parent much differently if I was not Catholic, but I like having Mary as a model, and I like how I feel when I model Catholic things (prayers, mass, etc) for my toddler.
I think that makes no sense, haha!
