A classic quote said to me when I asked two guys from the 80's who now run operations, is it still fun working on the ships? 'No..no, we were definately the generation that spoiled it for everyone else'.

From what I have been told, from staff applying for the ships, the wage is about minimum. The main target is eastern european staff. So, if anyone is going to do the ships, it will be for a great experience, not for the money. I did them in the 80's and if I was young, I would still do them, ship based is a good experience, and a cheap way to travel.
