My Dear Friend Rajeev
Hope you will be fine and sorry for delay.
You have not to give up hope at any stage and Dr. Young will give you the
best advise which we can not give and also believe we should not advise you
for treatments which are at trial basis yet.
So live happy and be optimistic. God will help my friend.
Sincerely with love
Jawaid

It will hopefully see the market in the first half of 2010.
You could get a script from a doctor and then have a compounding pharmacy in the States formulate it for you ... I was tempted for many years but couldn't talk a doctor into prescribing something not on the market yet either.
Might as well wait. It won't be long and even then, it's only used 'off-label' for spinal cord ...

How are people getting their doctors to prescribe 4-AP to them?
Everything I am reading seems to make it only justifiable for MS patients!
From the Acorda website it just mentions it is in clinical trial as far as SCI is concerned.
Acorda fampridine sci
Is anyone getting fampridine SR ?
Or are you getting 4-AP made up at a compounding pharmacy?

Manouli,
It is with a sigh of relief that I greet this news. Approval by the advisory committee is only the first step of the final approval process. Getting 4-aminopyridine approved has been a longer and tougher road that any of us could have realized when we started on this road. The first clinical trials of 4-aminopyridine in multiple sclerosis were done in the 1980's. Andrew Blight ...

I also watched this documentary but did so after it had aired. I watched it online through BBC Iplayer but I'm not sure if people with servers outside the UK can view it (worth a try though).
There wasn't anything definative mentioned just the possibility of future treament with Stem Cells. Hans Keirstead's final word to Sophie was quite pertinant, he said he believed there would be ...
