Thanks jkbauemont. I appreciate the response. its going to my Fuze box, not my battery. could I run the new one from alt to fuze positive terminal like the old, or is it better to go directly to the battery? Also if ur silverado is similar where was the wire at, was it more on the bottom or under side. Im going from memory so dont remember seing any other wires, but I will check tomorrow while doing my gains and hopefully finish the BIG 3 also...

Just bought a batcap 4000, my front hc1400 is dead after autozone tested it. Is it necessary to get an isolator, i was thinking of the Stinger 200amp isolator on ebay, but my alt does 230amp. My rear hc1400 will be switched to the front and the batcap 2000 will be in the trunk..

Here's my setup right now:
8-Gauge wire battery + running to my 200w rms 600 peak RF amp for my subs.
8-Gauge wire battery + running to my 100w rms 400 peak Jensen amp for my
surrounds.
Both are grounded close to the amps to the chassis with a clean ground. My
lights dim pretty badly with such little power. It looks like my chassis to
battery ground is a mere 8-gauge wire. If I run 8-Gauge from...

that would be fine... you running another amp at all?
you should be good just doing the Big3 if that is your only amp, then you don't have to waste money on batts... depending on the car.
