the heavy pearl combined with the florecent lights makes the paint look
orange....but it's really an intense red...weird.... LOL

headunit did he get? That amp is only $270. And the wiring was probably not more than $100.

From the recommended RMS power chart provided by JL it looks like the 10w6v2 is comfortable at around 350wrms. I think you made a great amp choice. It will leave you with some nice headroom. I also looked at this amp for myself. It has gotten many nice reviews. Plus, for $130 it's
hard to beat. Just make sure you have the space for it!

I think your sub and amp are just fine, it's the box that's limiting the deep bass.
If there are bass boost settings on the amp or headunit you could try to boost it real low, like at 35 hz or something, but be careful, because it's very easy to clip your signal.
Ported boxes usually deliver more output at lower frequencies. The thing is, the port has to have certain dimensions ...
