Enlarging sub hole

You just happen to have a box that's up to specs, volume & tuning (if applicable) wise for two totally different subs? ...must be sealed. Good luck shaving, keep things round.

Midbass/Amps

i wouldn't do that, midbass/midrange wave lengths are alot shorter than sub bass, you would get cancellation mixing drivers and the alignment would be wrong. make sure you've sealed your doors off from front to back, alot of people dont and they lack anything above 100-200hz. remember cancellation occurs when you have the same frequency but not in the same phase, the back waves will not be in the same phase as the front, and if...

I don't think anyone implied that SQ was limited to the motor. But we were discussing the drivers, specifically, not the entire system. And the surround is part of the suspension last time I looked , and I covered that. It is impossible to discuss the driver's ability to maintain linearity and composure without taking it's suspension into account IMO. Cone material is worth mentioning, I agree. IMO pulp is the only way to go. I...

If your needing to as 1/8 of an inch, then you will need to shave only 1/16" all the way around. You can usually put a sub in an enclosure that is 1/16" less than the cutout size calls for, it is just a very tight fit & hard to spin. I personally like it better when it's tight that way.
So if you want a tight fit then 1/32" all the way around should do the trick. I would us a tape measure ...

wat are you wanting to accomplish? sq, spl, 50/50?
i usually prefer building a box to fit the needs of a woofer instead of finding woofers to fit a box. however, sometimes it works out well. so how many cubic feet is your box? ported? sealed?
i recommend go look around on www.woofersetc.com for a general idea of best prices.

The Alpine CDA 9887 is a unit with significant onboard processing options (the closest thing to the older BassEngine Pro features currently available) that can also use Alpine's Imprint auto-tuning software- be aware that Imprint turns most of the advanced manual tuning features "off".
The CDA 105 is a lesser unit that is dependent on Imprint to set the majority of features up automatically,...

I remember asking the same thing about the IDQ a while back. Only diff between the v2 and v3 is pretty much cosmetics for the most part. Either sub will sound good.

i would go with 6.5" drivers personally, and stay away from oval speakers. i usually only stick to round speakers but thats just personal prefrence.
you can get 5x7 to 6.5" converter plates, ill post a link.
it sayes they will work for a 97-08 Expedition for (front & rear speakers)
