Hi, just thought I might share my experience... Apparently when capturing with Sony Vegas Pro 8.0B, it screws with the date and time info of the captured m2t. According to "HDV Data Monitor" the footage I shot yesterday was actually filmed in 2065. When I capture footage with HDV Split, the date and time of the recording come out fine. Just so ya'll know...

Thought I'd just have a little rant - Sony Vegas MSP angers the living sh*ts out of me. Why oh why does Sony only give you 4 video and 4 audio tracks? Their excuse that if you want more tracks go to Vegas Pro, what a load of hog wash. I mean all the similar priced entry level programs (except for Pinnacle but we won't go into that load of rubbish) offers up to 99 tracks. Movie ...

I bought the Inspiron 530 Q6600 discussed otherwhere here with WinXP, and the Dell Firewire card. Also an ATI 2600 XT graphics card. Successfully set up a Raid drive. Machine worked fine for abt 6 weeks. Then I installed Vegas 9 Pro Pak. When I input clips from the HV30, I am having trouble with screen freezes followed by either a long power down before the computer could be ...

Hey everyone, I just got my HV20, haven't throughly tested it yet, but I was wondering, since I do a lot of editing, would my dual core be enough fore editing or would there be big benefits to upgrading to quad core?

Great program for stabilizing shaky video in post. Normally $119, download on sale for $69.95 at digitaljuice.com No longer advertised on their website but can still be ordered using their 800 number. Don't know when/if expires. Ordered mine today. Good luck! Also, they have some great, low cost animated bg's and other stuff. Check them out!

I saw this Vista advertisement for Vista the other day and it pretty much sucked me in. I wanted to know has anyone upgraded to Vista from XP and is it worth it?

This isn't a "is my computer powerful enough to edit HDV" question. Well, I guess it kind of is - but it wont be answered in the sticky above. Can someone link me to (or contact me and I can provide an FTP to put it in) a 10-20sec HD vid file from an HV20/30 that I can pull into Sony Vegas and play around with just to see if my computer is capable of editing it? Thanks ALOT! This...

I exported "MPEG2DVD" format from After Effects CS3 and want to put it on a DVD. Media from AfterEffects is *.m2v and SONY DVD Architect doesn't even consider this format as readable. Than I exported "MPEG2" format from After Effects CS3 and got a *.mpg file that "DVD Architect" reads fine but wants to recompress. I have "Sony Vegas Movie Studio Platinum 8.0" that has a special ...

Hi, I'm tryint to edit some important files for a business I do a DVD for each year. The files come to me on DVD every year as a DVD film (not ideal) so I either have to convert them or use an editor that handles VOB files. Luckily Vegas Pro 8.0 does VOB. However, I'm having issues. One minute its working fine and I'm out putting clips split from the VOB file on the ...

The mt2 files I capture from the HV20 into Vegas Pro 8 show an average video data rate of 3.125 MB/s. Is this lower than it should be? Is there a value in rendering at 5, 10 or 20 MB/s if the input is only 3.125? Pls help clarify this. Thanks

I normally only upgrade software every other version (when it's roughly a yearly release) but the one thing I really wanted was easy Dvix compatable rendering. So I see Sony is offering discounted upgrades ~$60 for the MSP 9 Pro Pack. Main things of interest with a quick look at the features that are making me think about it are: 1) New Mpeg-4 support - rendering options 2) ...

Well, just purchased a new $1,500 HP Laptop w/4gigs of ram, 320GB HD and Vista64 installed. I then installed the CS3 Production Premium Suite and was ready to go. Then I discovered to my dismay the Firewire Drivers for Vista64 do not support Input/Output of video through the Firewire port.. What a "F"ing pain in the a$$. Searched the internet, went to MS's site, with no luck... Now I've ...

I been reading this forum since I got My HV30 and bought Vegas 8 Pro to do my work but I can't seem to GET it when it comes to this program. I am tech savvy but have went through a 20 pack of DVD's trying to burn footage to a DVD in SD format. I been rendering as MPEG-2, quality BEST, output DVD, width 720, height 480, frame rate 29.970, aspect ratio, 4:3 display, field order none (...
