It came!!! I'm so very happy! Here was the unboxing ceremony...sorry you guys couldn't be there And some closeups... It's so pretty...and shiny! I'm working on my rig right now; pictures soon to follow!

I'm really surprised how bad the audio quality is with my HV30. There is a quite loud and audible hiss from the noise of the motor. The video quality is fantastic. It is the audio that is really distracting. I guess I'm going to be forced to use an external shotgun mic for everything. I don't mind, but I'd like to use the internal mic for shooting the kids at the park or something like that....

I had my Panasonic stolen recently. It was a PV-DV901 and used mini dv tapes to record on. It was pretty good for what it was. When I hired a guy that would video tape our local theater shows, it was fully compatible with his. We recorded our last show and played it back into my PC and edited it with no problem. Hi It's been great lurking and learning from you folks. I just bought the HV20 and have some newbie questions. What is absolutely necessary as options? 1 Hood 2 Lens - clear, uv, wide angle, telephoto...etc 3 batteries I want to protect my investment as well as get the best basics to start with. I am not doing professional projects, but want whatever I do to be good....

Ok, I just got a HV30, and I have been reading and reading on these forums for hours now. I have a good understand about 24p being great for giving a "film" look. 30p for being good for web and sports. But I am still confused, and still do not understand where 60i fits in this (I assume this is the standard HDV mode but not sure). Ultimately, in the morning I will be taking my 11 month ...

Can tapes from an HC3 play in an HV30? I Googled and several people said thay can't. Or that they can, just not output via Firewire. Is this true?

I have been shooting a feature film using the HV20, and all the talk, and debate about capturing the video was giving me a headache.
