My team was practicing, so I figured that I would go in and study them a bit and also get my practice in, pick out the settings, location, and where to stand... After the Olympics, I got pretty excited cause I got so much study material for Indoor Volleyball, As i tried to recreate the photos from the Olympics Volleyball, I found that (well, I already knew) that my girls don't jump as high ...

Heres a few shots from tonights UB-UTEP game. My Mark II is in the hospital, so I borrowed a friends Mark I. All shots were taken with a 300 f/2.8, some with a 1.4 extender. This is my second time shooting football, so I would appreciate any comments and critiques. Scott

These shots are from Friday's home opener for the University of Montana Grizzlies who hosted the Washington State Cougars . The Cougars won the game by a score of 1 to 0. All shots were hand held with the 100 - 400. The game was in the evening and the light was pretty harsh. This was my first try at competitive soccer. Comments and criticism greatly appreciated. 1. 2. 3. 4. 5....

Here are a couple of shots from a volleyball match last night that I shot at ISO 3200 with the Mark III. f/2.0 and shutter speed of 1/640 for those playing at home. These have not been ran though noise ninja or any other noise reduction program and are RAW files converted to JPEG and posted.

Night games are night games, but it was still fun to cover last evening's Bears Vs 49ers game at Soldier Field, despite the fact that the Bears lost 37-30. Looking forward to day games once the regular season starts. Chicago Bears wide receiver Brandon Lloyd (80-L) blocks a punt off the leg of San Francisco 49ers punter Andy Lee (4-R) during the second half of an NFL game between the Bears ...

I was asked by a friend to shoot her daughter for high school volleyball. She'd like to me to come to as many games as I can and shoot. The gear I have is listed below in my signature. Could I get away shooting indoor volleyball with a 70-200 f/4? Also, how would the 50mm f/1.8 do? Does anyone have any pictures from any of these lenses of indoor volleyball. Would it be wise to rent a 70-200 ...

The 85 1.8 is a great lens, but the dof is soooooooo shallow that you really have to nail the target to get it in focus. But with lousy gym light, it's really your only option other than setting up strobes etc. It's taken some time, but I feel that I am getting better. (slowly!!)

This is my first time posting shots from a professional minor league game. I shot the Savannah Sandgnats and Rome Braves today. At first glance I was pretty happy with the shots but then after cropping some it seemed some were soft in the face. I would appreciate some overall comments of the shots themselves and also your opinions of the sharpness to these. Here is a side note. I have more ...

I'm going to be doing more indoor sports this year, volleyball and basketball in particular at the jr high and small high school level. I have some experience in this area both at this level, where the gyms tend to be poorly lit, and at higher levels where the lighting is better. My concern is the poorly lit gyms and the younger kids. Before in these "bad light" gyms always got decent ...
