Some shots of a common cranefly taken at 1:
1, 3:1 and 5:1. All are focus stacked. As you may notice I was playing with the BG in some of these. Think these look more like dragons as you zoom in than dragonflies. Brian v.

I thought I would play with using the Elements 4
panorama stitching option to merge two macro shots. Seems to have worked pretty well. Has anyone else tried this?

Where'd you get those peepers ? Two flies with interesting eyes. First one is a flat-footed fly Platypezidae about 4mm long - these are the ones that like running
around in circles on leaves at high speed. The second one is an autumnal soldier fly Sargus bipunctatus about 15mm body length. Brian V.

This moth was about 2 inches long and would not land when feeding; but I managed to get a couple shots before it moved
out of range. It's wingbeats reminded me of a hummingbird. ID?
