Is there a better time of year for the itching or is it consistent with weather/season changes?

i agree. i don't leave my dog out for long periods of time especially if she's barking. i think it's just common courtesy and it's not good for the animal.

He was on one of the best brands (and one of the most expensive) Royal Canin Oral Sensitivity. Again, the previous owner got this food for her other cat becuase of her teeth and her sensitive stomach. This is what the vet has recommended for her to buy for that cat. So the other two cats (including the one I adopted) had to eat this food. She had given me what she had left of that bag, when I adopted him. Now that its finished I want to find a...

Just a thought, but cats licking can just be a sort of neurosis similar to the sucking behaviours you described. It might be allergies or mental or both. What you say about being taken from the mother too soon could well be. It happens in many mammals, including farm animals. The young can injure each other (it's called belly nosing) trying to suckle. My childhood cat had been a stray and was very prone to stress, and he sometimes licked...

My dog is on this powder/calcium medication because he has started to develop arthritis in his leg. Its important he gets it each night and since he is a picky eater and doesnt always eat his meal. I decided to give him a little meat with the powder stuff on it each night. Usually I cook up soup bones and then cut off all the meat, but I've had a really hard time finding any soupbones, so I had to buy beef hearts. I cooked them up and...

She has this thing for certain toys - she loves to carry them around. Fine. BUT the past week or two she has gotten a strange habit - she carries them around & then sits at the back door & whines LOUD to go out. We take the toy away & she won't go out. Don't want toys that are muddy coming back in So then we give her the toy back & she follows us around whining & running to the back door whining. She also shakes...

She could very well be missing her buddy. I hope she stops whining soon as that really can get on your nerves. Annette

I agree, I think she's reacting to her friend being gone She's probably hoarding all her stuff and trying to keep it safe because she's afraid if she doesn't it won't come back. Poor girl! My heart breaks for her. Give her time. My Dad had 2 dogs when we were kids, when we had to have the oldest put down the younger was out of sorts for a good couple months. She would pace in front of the door waiting for him to come...

OK first off, with a more expensive food you will be feeding less and the health benefits alone will help off set it more (not to mention less poops ). What is/was he eating? You will want to go to a grain free food like Innova EVO, or if you can't find grain free try to find a food with NO corn, barley, wheat, something like fish and potato, green pea and duck (Wellness or Eagle Pack ...

Please don't give your dog cooked bones! (not sure if you are giving just the meat or bone too) On a full raw diet you want 10% to be organ meat, heart is not considered organ meat. Liver, kidney, pancreas etc are organ meats. Would you consider not cooking the organs/meat? It loses available nutrients when cooked. My puppy is being raised on a raw diet and once you get organized and start it ...

LOL good one! It's not fair to a dog or the neighbours to leave them outside barking. Really makes me upset. My dogs bark when they're in the backyard so I just let them out for short periods and never when I'm not home.

brush brush brush! The more you brush her, the less she'll shed, but also just lots of vacuuming and sweeping.

my cat used to growl & we finally realized he didn't like my mom! He could 'hear' her coming up the stairs & even if it took her 2 - 5 minutes to come in he would be at 'his' spot & growling He also used to swipe her arm if she went to pet him & knew exactly where to put his claws to make her bleed (she had chemo & had the needle in for the time so her 'scar' would bleed if he hit it a ...

Is she a larger breed? The only time I've seen something like that was with a standard poodle (although all larger dogs can get it), and he had Bloat. The stomach twists and the stomach tissue can die it can be fatal within a matter of hours to the animal. Please get her to the vet right away to make sure!!! http://www.canismajor.com/dog/bloat.html Quote: Bloat, Torsion. Gastric ...

I think your only option would be to take her to a Humane society or no kill shelter (please let them know of her issues so they can place her with the appropriate person). You are surrending all your rights to her care and there is no guarantee that she won't be put down if she is too aggressive or they find some health related issues. Good Luck
