I hope everyone had a great holiday. Good food, good friends and good dreams. Thank you, Dan, for the email greeting. That was a really nice touch.

Airport Full Body Scans
Published (2009-12-30 05:54:00)
The new scanners are expensive. If we cut 1% of our Afghanistan budget, we could equip all our airports with new scanners. Restore our safety instead of wasting our money for a lost cause.

How much "security" is required? After we are all naked, are they going to do rectal probes too? What is the limit? That guy who caused the most recent fuss was on a watch list but they let him on anyway. Sooner or later, there will be terrorists who choose ground based American targets. Walmart anybody? BTW, it is still relatively easy for baggage handlers and maintenance people to smuggle packages onto planes. The illicit...

eww, we went to the recycling centre yesterday, which is located at the town dump, and there must have been 50+ eagles on the ground, in the trees and perched on buildings. It was eerie when one would take off and fly over the truck, they were only about 4-6 feet away from us. Seems one of the eagles killed a seagull and was attracting a crowd while eating Man those are big birds.

We had some strange weather here in the interior of BC yesterday. It started out at 2C and was raining, then switched to snow as the temperature dropped and the wind picked up. By afternoon, it was a howling blizzard. Then it cleared off and the wind dropped. It was -15C this morning but sunny and bright.
