Thinking for early retirement,...

Here is a part of our plan for early retirement (or getting out of the rat race early). I started planning "not to work" around age 30. (because deep down I'm lazy) Most people start to panic at age 50, saying they only have 15 years until retirement. Cannot remember the name but ... There is an Ontario based, family owned furniture store company that has had long-term great profitability, and frequently makes special dividends.

I've been busy with my personal life for the last while, so I've dropped out of the media and message boards...You simply can't replace family time once that time has passed. The whole publishing endevour had started to take too much of my time, so I had to retreat for a while... I would like to offer a quick update on what I see. I wanted...

I agree this is a sign of "maximum pessimism" Reading that article makes me want to call Derek a bunch of nasty names. More realistically I think he's just another guy who made typical investing mistakes. 1. Overstated his risk tolerance. 2. Didn't invest according to his time horizon. 3. Didn't follow an appropriate asset allocation ...

Which means, don't touch your pension before age 55! I believe pensions are exempt from bankruptcy, so if you draw money out of it early, you'll only lose it to ...

His website isn't flashy and he preaches patience but for my money and experience Tom Connolly is and excellent primer http://www.dividendgrowth.ca/pages/old_site/index. html Read everything he says and points to carefully and 10 years down the road you will be thankful you did.

I vacationed in Jasper , Alberta in 2005 and worked in the Banff area in 79' on a large road construction project and just fell in love with the mountains and clean water and air and abundant ...
