Manulife is an insurance and investment company. Being consider a safe sector by investors. Manulife is I think the most important insurance company in Canada. Safe sector and Manulife pay dividend. But between Scotia Bank and Manulife - I prefer Scotia Bank. Own 103 stocks of BNS and none of Manulife. I don't like Manulife as an investment. Don't ask me...

The market has let the price fall so the yield is 11%. That's too high a yield, I suspect the market knows something that you clearly don't. I'm comfortable with Split shares as I hold then for three companies. None of mine yield close to 11%. Hold off buying till you find out why the price has been let to fall that far....

Im into BMO also. About 10% of my portfolio. I also purchased some at 27 something. I cant resists the Juicy dividends. I got into GE the day BEFORE they announced there 68% dividend cut.
