From what I have heard eagle cranks are not very strong and have weak points in which they tend to break. Ive heard scat cranks are similar but the weak points are beefier. I know both of them are made in china...i think...but i have been looking at scat for when it comes
time to build my engine

I ran my 6AL box for a while and it never killed the
opti (other stuff did). Your problem sounds like the ICM though. It's heat that can kill it, so it can still test good. Next time it dies, let the engine cool for like 10 minutes. Then try starting it again. If it starts, it's the ICM.

Like they say, you get what you pay for!! Why not just use your factory crank, some decent rods, pistons and
ARP hardware? I'd trust that more than the kit your looking at. Does it have to be a 383?

As long as you run
LT4 valve springs you'll be fine.
It's a good budget cam, so if all you want is a little meaner sound and a little extra power in the powerband, it's a great choice.
That being said there are plenty of better cams out there if you want to spend a little bit more.
Don't forget atleast a mail order tune after installation.

OEM Ignition vs aftermarket LTCC/DELTEQ
For those that have swapped a
fully functional OPTI for either a DELTEQ OPTI Direct or LTCC what did you gain?
Who has done the swap and then ended up going back to stock ignition?
Thanks!
Mike

The fpr needs to be addressed before you can start tracing this down. a stock one from the
auto parts store should do you just fine.
