I'm confused... were you asking for opinons on the kit, or simply telling us you already made up your mind and are going to buy it?

Yeah a few of you guys were pretty darn close.. Cheaters probably looked at Lloyds website for the #'s!! j/k Well Jeremy Formato, buddy who tuned my car... said that he doubts my high flow cats negatively affected the HP.. But also thought a 58 would help a lot judging by the flat peak. WS6.com shows very little HP difference on a bolt on Ram air LT1 Borla open vs closed adjuster plate. If you still have the foil over wrapped wires going down the passenger inner fender, you may want to pull that cover off and look at the wires inside. You may have a surprise like I did when mine did the same thing some years ago.

Like they say, you get what you pay for!! Why not just use your factory crank, some decent rods, pistons and ARP hardware? I'd trust that more than the kit your looking at. Does it have to be a 383?

It will cost you more to $$$ convert to the SBC heads to LT1 than its worth.... GM LT1 carb conversion intake and may be your fix.... allows use of regular distributor too. http://www.summitracing.com/parts/NAL-24502592/

Operating temperature is not just determined by the thermostat, the cooling system is very reliant on the fans. If you use a 160* thermostat, they fan settings much be rescaled (the same same percentage) or the car will basically run at the same temp.

I tried the pan the other way - a 'F' body pan on a Vette - baffle wouldn't clear the oil pump. So I stored the 'F' body pan in the garage and bought a stock 'Y' pan. Hope you have better luck. Please clarify for people. Do you want the part that goes in the opti (difficult to get) or a whole opti? "thepartsladi" on Ebay can supply you a decently priced complete opti.

Read them again. The MSD cap and rotor gets good reviews. It is the MSD billet opti that is unreliable which is why people say bad things about it. It is VASTLY less reliable than stock. Why should anyone say good about it then?

From what I have heard eagle cranks are not very strong and have weak points in which they tend to break. Ive heard scat cranks are similar but the weak points are beefier. I know both of them are made in china...i think...but i have been looking at scat for when it comes time to build my engine

I ran my 6AL box for a while and it never killed the opti (other stuff did). Your problem sounds like the ICM though. It's heat that can kill it, so it can still test good. Next time it dies, let the engine cool for like 10 minutes. Then try starting it again. If it starts, it's the ICM.

As long as you run LT4 valve springs you'll be fine. It's a good budget cam, so if all you want is a little meaner sound and a little extra power in the powerband, it's a great choice. That being said there are plenty of better cams out there if you want to spend a little bit more. Don't forget atleast a mail order tune after installation.

OEM Ignition vs aftermarket LTCC/DELTEQ For those that have swapped a fully functional OPTI for either a DELTEQ OPTI Direct or LTCC what did you gain? Who has done the swap and then ended up going back to stock ignition? Thanks! Mike __________________...

The fpr needs to be addressed before you can start tracing this down. a stock one from the auto parts store should do you just fine.
