Ford workers vote on strike
Published (2009-11-13 17:58:00)
Quote: Less than two weeks after UAW workers rejected modifications to a national labor contract with Ford Motor, workers in Claycomo, Mo., are voting to authorize a strike. Voting began Thursday at UAW Local 249 and is expected to conclude Saturday. "This doesn't mean we are going on strike," said UAW Local 249 President Jeff Wright. "This is just one step in the process. We are continuing to talk with...

I'm just thinking that if they make it narrower, that would be noticeable in the interior. I kind of like a wide cockpit, but I guess I'd be willing to give that up if it made the car lighter.

How was the road noise in the 370Z? I've read some reviews talking about how much tire drone there is.
I sat in a Camaro and holy blind spot Batman! Of course I REALLY LOVE the exterior styling of it, and I even like the interior styling, but the materials are so . That, and no Nav option on it kills it for me. One reason why I'm more focused on the Corvette price range now.

I hope they strike and Ford closes the plant. **** 'em. They are trying to screw over the only major American car company that has thus far made it without bankruptcy by making the cars cost more than the rivals. This is exactly what the import non-union companies did to the big 3...

Seing as it will be a truck application, don't expect a DI LS7.

I just realized the article doesn't specify that the diesel will be turbocharged, but the title of the article on their main page does say turbo diesel.
This is a heck of a goal though considering BMW's own current 335d with 2 more cylinders and 1 more liter of displacement still isn't as quick as the 335i (though it's close enough for most people).

It is a Camaro, until gas is $10 a gallon Camaro needs a V8.
Now what if the only V8 was a SIDI 5.3L or 5.5L putting out 400HP and the top engine was a 450HP 4.0L V6, is that even possible?

No ... the reasons they went away are still valid: cost, weight, reliability, packaging. And with today's sophisticated optics, there's very few styling drawbacks to having exposed lights.

Serious question. Is there some reason you can't turn the ignition off or throw it in neutral when this is happening?
Or have people become so used to cars that 'never' have such issues that they've forgotten basic steps to mitigate?

Few years? Fail. Dont bother.
Delta II cars are out now across the world for over a year.
We dont even have one here yet, and the one we were supposed to get, we wont see for another year. Volt, few months beyond that.
Unless you can launch it the same time as the Volt, put it off yoru list.

Great call on that. Also notice that the door handles are much more production ready.
