Original Post by crazyperson01 : Um...I'm just trying to eat as little as possible. I'm an ogre! You should see my stomach! If as little as possible is at least 1500 then you're good to go...if it's under then please refrain from posting...as it is against CC guidelines. 1500 is the minimum for teens. Please try to be healthy, you are more than your weight. Posting Guidelines Calorie Count's mission is to...

What I understood from your post is that your doing some body-weight training as well as cardio? It's preferable not to do cardio and strength training at the same time becaues they take alot of your energy. Athletes usually do that, so unless your training to be an athlete it's not recommended to do that. Unless you do them in different time intervals, for example cardio in the morning and strength training in the after-noon then...

At What Age?

21 is the general cut-off. What you should find, however, is that the teen calculator numbers for age 18, 19 and 20 are very similar to the adult ones. Generally speaking, aim for 'as many calories as you can get away with' rather than 'as few as you can put up with'.... and improve the quality of your diet and increase your exercise levels instead.

That depends on what you're trying to do: lose weight (you shouldn't be)? maintain? gain weight? On days when you go to the gym, you'd be classified as "very active" and would need 2820 calories to maintain, according to the website I used. On other days, you'd probably count as at least "lightly active" and would need 2010 calories to maintain. It's hard to estimate well without knowing how often...

Calorie Question
Published (2009-12-13 05:12:00)
I know that there are a lot of questions about this (so bear with me): I run 30 minutes, walk 90 minutes (4+ mph), I stand a majority of the day...if I am 18, female and 125-130 lbs...how many calories and grams of protein would I need...I was recently told I may need more protein by a fellow runner... 0 Replies

A calorie is a calorie. As long as you make room, the junk food will not impede your weight loss. Just try and eat healthy most of the time, :)

Seriously people, whats with all this 'guys dig curves' garbage? Yea right! If guys dig curves, than why is the stick-thin image promoted? And why do guys only date mainly skinny girls whose legs don't even touch when they walk?
Anyone else in high school notice this? Do you think it's just our age?

so exercising about 1 hour a day you burn 2482 calories, according to
http://www.bcm.edu/cnrc/healthyeatingcalculat or/eatingCal.html
on days where you exercise less than 1 hour a day you need 2160 calories. So if you'd like to average the 2 and stay consistent regardless of whether your exercise or not that day then you should aim for about 2300 calories daily. your bmi is only 19.3 so...

Hi. I' m 13-14 in a couple weeks- years old, aobut 5'5 and about 130 pounds. My stomach is huge and I'm always sucking it in and doing different types of situps and core exercise videos along with cardio exercise for about an hour almost everyday. I used to eat 1300 calories and every morning my stomach would look small. Now I'm eating 1500 calories or a little less and my stomach always looks ...

So, the goal here is to have examples from CCers who might be more similar to you in terms of living arrangements and overall experiences on a daily basis. How did I mess up today?
-Overate by a few hundred calories after dinner, nothing terrible but I haven't done that in a while :P
How am I going to fix it?
-Commit to a single healthy after dinner snack and distract myself with other ...

I like eating dinner with my family. It's the only time I see/talk with them all day. But only sometimes are their meals low in calories and healthy. Sometimes I will deal with the low-cal moderately healthy ones. But sometimes the meal is unhealthy and high in calories.
How do you handle it? do you not eat with them? do you eat with them and eat something different? The first will only work...

okay so im 17 years old 5'5 and about 110lbs
When I go to the gym I usually run on the elliptical for an hour, then do intervals on the treadmil for a half hour then I do fifteen minutes of abs and about 20 minutes of weight machines.
How many calories do you think I burn off/how many calories should I eat on days I go to the gym?
I am so confused!

I've been offically working out for two weeks, about three times a week. I've noticed that the "regular" (i.e. Running, Yoga & such) have me dreading them and actually make me hurt alot more than when I do Dance based lesson workouts. I don't know if it's the music or what, but I would like to learn to enjoy the "regular" workouts more, any suggestions?
