There is an aud.ini setting. its called something like bouncebuffsize. Increase it to 25 or 20 and try again. But first make sure your 2 global midi settings in options/gloabal/midi data is set to 64 and 500 or 64 and 600 Cj

Listening to reference music
Published (2009-11-26 07:41:13)
If you want to use it as a reference you need to run it through the same things as you would use for the actual recordings you do. I see no good reason to use a different program for this. Also if you try to analyze the reference song how would you do it with MP?

Hey Jeff, That's a classy post and I thank you personally for your open-minded attitude. I think this thread has been a success in one sense already, in that your interaction here, while filled with a few entertaining twists, has altered your point of view on this issue. Takes a certain kind of person to state that publicly. All I can say is, welcome to the workflow club! ;) (Alright, that was kind of corny.) Now how do we most...

I don't get it.  If you have the kit spread out over several MIDI tracks, just solo the track you want and bounce it down.  That's the easiest. The other is to upon insertion of EZ select separate audio outs (MONO) for all the outputs, then use EZ's mixer to pan channels L and R to isolate them.  Then your MIDI tracks are dedicated to separate audio tracks.  Whoop!

I upgraded my computer somewhere along the way and somehow lost my Finale disc, so I had to upgrade (I think that's what happened anyway...it's been a few months). It didn't cost much and I was hoping they had fixed some of the annoying features. I'll check into the audio recording for you. Yes, I know you can record midi directly into Finale, but like you said, Sonar seems a little more user-...

Hi Rob, Thanks for your concerns. But so many of us are using Vista 64 and SONAR 8 w/o problems. This must mean that it is not inherent to the OS, no? Furthermore, those testing Windows 7 overwhelmingly report that they get excellent performance. How do you reconcile this? < Message edited by Brandon Ryan [Cakewalk] -- 6/29/2009 12:12:13 PM >...

It doesn't sound good, but firtsly I'd do a file search under the name of the song or file name to locate the file. Failing that you could try some data recovery software like file shredders that have undelete utilities attached. They will show you erased files on the drive and the chance of recovery. My experience of success with these types of utilities after Win 98 has been limited though. ...

Subtle humor is often wasted here, Freddie. Just the idea that you have to tack on a smiley to indicate humorous intent, sort of like dubbing a laugh track on a TV sitcom. Maybe you could try one of these: it's a 64-bit smiley!

True. I imagine that it's not just a single bug, but a knot of bugs from different systems that are contributing to this. They might not even be bugs individually, but "become" a bug under certain circumstances. It probably reaches pretty deep....

Here's my take for what it's worth. First, major props to CW for the announcement. I think the hush hush stuff should be squashed from here on out. The competition and those reviewers that don't like the product will always have something to say no matter how great Sonar may be or how bug free it may become. We are the important ones. We need the truth, and it's only fair we shouldn't be left in ...

mudgel My favourite thing about SONAR 8.5 is that its progressed to a point where I don't think I'll ever need to buy another version of SONAR. that's good for me but I guess not so good for Cakewalk. Still it had to happen one day. SONAR does all I can imagine doing with it. Good on you Cakewalk. You only think that because you haven't yet imagined...

Nice dude! So you did it huh? I'm really happy for you my friend. Hopefully I'll join you with a Windows 7 and Core i7 machine sometime early next year (crossed fingers). Just remember to use the AUD.INI tweak to get even more CPU leveling on your current CPU (it actually applies to Quad Core and higher CPU's). Please do keep us updated on how this new machine works for you....
