at this point after you've disabled the Sb card, just increase your latency buffers on the m-audio. if you're still in WDM driver mode, then just go to OPTIONS>AUDIO>GENERAL and move the latency slider toward the SAFE side. if you're in ASIO mode, then click on the ASIO button at the bottom of that screen, it will pull up the m-audio interface panel. look in there for the HARDWARE BUFFERS and increase them.

It may just be down to Beagle's suspicion of the 'ol Celeron, bub. I'm sorry, I don't have any other ideas. Hang in there, though- there's legions of folks around here that are far more savvy than I.... Rob (in reply to Delta362 )

Published (2008-11-30 12:14:00)
Close, Mark. TTS-1 is actually a GM2 synth. The Wikipedia page below has a table that shows the bank and patch layout. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/General_MIDI_Level_2 In your MIDI track, select the channel you want to use. Select a bank (instruments are in 0-5, drums in Preset Rhythm) Select a Patch. The dropdown menu will list the available instruments in your selected bank. When you do this, you will see that the channel in TTS-1 reflects...

Yes it really doesn't seem right. the shipping is basically the same price as the shipping costs. I don't think we have a Canadian distributor. I read someone else had looked into it with no luck. We could probably get the software here, but at regular price and they wouldn't support the upgrades Cakewalk is offereing. The other thing that bothers me is that they only have a toll free number for the US. I would think that they...

Thanks, Rob. The wave profiler is availabe when I use the WDM mode, and I've run it. The record and playback timing masters are tied to the M-Audiio. However, when I used the WDM mode, I experience dropout almost as soon as the recording started. I might be lucky to get one beat in before it trips. Any thoughts as to what might be causing the dropout? I've run msconfig and now only have the M-Audio selected under the Startup tab....

Hi Gene, welcome aboard. Once you've inserted the TTS-1 into your project, the main window will appear. Click on one of the rectangular buttons at the top of any of the sixteen strips (usually the left one first) and a smaller window will open, specific to the channel you have chosen: By default, TTS-1 opens with the 'Piano 1' preset. To load any other, left click once in the preset window (where you see Piano 1) and click on...

Home studio 7 XL Questions!

quote: ORIGINAL: papa2004 So you took a class in school to learn how to use a DAW but they didn't teach anything about soundcards and setting up a DAW system? I hope you didn't pay a lot of money for the course. Oh they did. But not in march of this year, like 2 years before. It's just one of those things that you forget sometimes, the basics. Hi Kurzland. SHS7 XL is really good choice and the new interface make it really easy to use. Here's my opinion about the bundle you gonna get with XL. I would be interested to have the opinion of other XL user. Strings With Studio Instruments Strings, Dimension LE and the Garritan extension you will have a very good choice of strings. And they are all good in my opinion. Pads There are some really good pads in Dimension. Rhodes and...

it's a tough call. Since you're only recording two tracks of audio you MIGHT get away with it. But you're scraping the failure level - you'd be best to drop the $25 on another gig of RAM.

I've been using HS2004XL for the past 5 years without any problems. Old soundcard was a SoundBlaster and I only had one direct input from my guitar preamp. Computer has 2.4GHz Intel Celeron CPU, with 2Gig of RAM. Recently, I purchased the M-Audio Fast Track Ultra and two mics (SM57 and Studio Projects B1), connecting to my computer with a USB 2 cable. Guitar preamp goes into input 1, ...

Hi guys, I'm very new to DAW and home recording, and knowing that there are YouTube videos and pf course the manual, and as good as these are, does anyone know of any DVD or online training / tutorials or anything like that? As a side note, could anyone tell me what the learning curve is for sonar, as that has loads of video tutorials, thanks...

I'm using HS7XL with my DrumCore programme for the first time and have come across a problem, for which I'm sure there's a simple solution. This is it: when I drag and paste a 2 bar (measure) DC groove clip onto the relevant track in my project it come up as 2 1/2 bars. Shrinking this to to a 2 bar length just results in an incomplete groove. Snap to grid is set to 'measure'. This is ...

Hi - another newbie here with no doubt an idiot question, but here goes... Quite simply I've been trying tp preview the samples from the Loop Explorer on HS6, but I can't get any sound, presumably there must be something infuriatingly simple that I'm not doing, but I haven't figured what. I've got the Loop Explorer open, and clicked a sample, I have the Auto button clicked on and the ...

Hi. I've been reading the forum and decided to join. I'm just beginning a home studio and am planning to buy Sonar Home Studio 7. I recorded years ago but doing so via software is a relatively new thing for me (although I do use a computer a lot). I'm aiming to buy stuff that is not overwhelmingly difficult to use, but since I also hate cheap sound I likewise need something that will create ...

I'm just trying to get started, so this is ALL new to me. I loaded the software and when I opened it and it was checking my sound connections (?) it closes and says: SONARHS.exe has encountered a problem. Support had me load "ASIO" and make another adjustment by going to the " run" command ( i have no idea what was done). That said, everything worked. He told me I could uninstall ASIO ...

Hi. I have questions about HS7 XL. I have experience with Logic 7 and Logic 8/studio. But since I have no Mac computer I am gonna go with a pc DAW. Is HS7 XL easy to use? How is the learning curve? I don't need a 500$ DAW, just a good one to put my ideas down and practice my timing/tempo and mess around with. Is this it? Are the sounds good? Piano? Rhodes? EPs? ...

I can't seem to find this feature in SHS 7. I checked the help files and the "M" keyboard shortcut doesn't seem to be included in SHS 7 either? I have some archived files I want to hide. Thanks. Annette

Hello all, I'm moving over form GT3 to SHS7XL. I'm new to soft synths and midi. I followed teh tutorial on adding a midi track and a soft synth and have the basic idea down but my SI instruments won't show up in the drop down menu. I have been following this forum for a few days and thought I saw a thread about needing to register SI before it will show up as a usable instrument but ...

How well does Sonar XL 7 work to record our band at practice, We want to record every instrument at one time. We're all mic'd in. thru the board. I'll be recording from Aux outs on the board to an M-audio interface to my computer. Is it simple to use and understand?

I recorded an audio track containing guitar and a midi track containing piano. After listening a few times, I decided to compress the guitar. After I did this, the midi track volume was barely noticable, even after boosting the volume. Is there something I need to do, or did wrong? HS4, XP, 2.99 GHZ, .99GB, M-Audio 410, Roland RS-5, Euroack ub1202fx...

Hi, I'm having a problem with my controller when I try to bend up on any softsynth. Bending down works fine, but when I bend up to a certain point the note reverts back to the original note. Is there some sort of global setting for bends in Sonar that effects all softsynths? Thanks!
